I'm currently working on a big MSoundFactory project and I have ideas for the GUI I'd like to implement but the tutorials are only surface level and the documentation isn't clear enough :)

Firstly, is there a way to open current MSoundFactory instruments in the GUI designer to reverse engineer how they did things or is it baked into the instrument?

I can check the MPs of course, but still some info seems hidden, for example "Wave Rider" has controls that show the waveform being selected, the MPs reveal it is assigned as "button", but implementing this myself didn't do the same thing, so I'm guessing it's been implemented on the GUI designer side of things. My best guess is it's an animated "knob" of the wave, rather than direct representation of the underlying oscillator.

If that's the case, prettty please can you add "by first parameter" support for none knob related parameters like the wavetable 3d display, oscilator/modulation display, or even I know I'm clutching at straws here, a custom shape editor for the "easy" screen, it'd work kind of like the XY pad implementation :)

Secondly the I haven't figured out the "Analyzer" or "Tuner" modules in the GUI designer items, seem like if I knew how to use them they could be useful for the above, like a live display of the oscillator, the "help" icon under the "Items" could explain the various items perhaps?

Thanks!

1) Sorry, but no.
2) Trying to keep things documented, but it's evolving quickly and these things are often very advanced. Anyways you just need to send feedback to there if I remember correctly.

Perhaps naive question: Why not? Is it just not yet implemented or are there objections against it? Locking of devices is already possible for third party stuff. But for Melda schematics (that everybody who buys MSF has access to anyways) this would only be beneficial!
E.g. to use an existing instrument as a basis and extend it - and also add or change controls in the UI accordingly.

That's because it is only an export, think of it like JPEG screenshot of a word document - you also can't easily reverse engineer that. Also there's the question of the property...
