Traction Waveform Not Recording

I have just started to play with the Traction Waveform DAW and I’ve run into a problem recording audio tracks. I am currently using an Arturia Minifuse 1 audio interface and I have Waveforms audio device setting pointing to the Asio driver for my Minifuse1. I have armed Track 1 as an audio track which in pointed at Mic/Line/Inst1. When I press record and beginning playing my guitar I can hear myself and my click over the monitor, but I Waveform does not record. The DAW moves the line across the screen, I see that track is getting input but there is no waveform appearing as it records. Also nothing place when I stop recording and press playback. I’m currently not using any plugins on the track.
Has anyone run across this issue?

I’m having a similar problem but with recording MIDI but only with my NI Kontrol MkIII keyboard. As with you I can see meters moving and hear the sound but no notes get added to the track
However this is working if I switch to my ROLI keyboards

The MIDI "works with ROLI" might indicate you have the MPE enabled by default; and the NI may not be sending that.
for the audio... do you have the "useful" context information open bottom portion of the screen? Press the up arrow key lower left to expand that, and click on the input left of track, and you should see a long horizontal input level on the track; plus an additional setting at the top of the Information section. Check record mode - there is one "don't make recordings from this device" - not sure why you'd want that - or to overlay or overwrite when recording.
PS - if you turn down the Waveform output, both click track AND guitar are silenced, and you're not hearing the guitar coming from another source (i.e. the input interface in direct monitoring mode). The fact you see the input levels bouncing makes me think it is correct.
PS - for guitar, any plugins on the right side? Delete or disable them for now - you can add effects, amp sim, etc.. later. You only want the default volume/panning while troubleshooting. Waveform is nice in that it "treats" audio and midi "the same", but some things don't work. Audio into a MIDI instrument will normally give you nothing; MIDI into echo or EQ without FIRST usiing a VST to convert it into audio don't work.

Are the tracks armed to record?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Ensure your track is set to record MPE. Otherwise this can happen. Not saying this is the cause, but when I forget to set a track to record MPE on a Roli device, I get nothing.aMUSEd wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 4:34 pm I’m having a similar problem but with recording MIDI but only with my NI Kontrol MkIII keyboard. I do not exactly understand this sentence.mpeeler3 wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 3:21 pm I have armed Track 1 as an audio track which in pointed at Mic/Line/Inst1.
What you need to do, in my example recording to Track 1:
Do link the track to an input channel:
Have in the rectangle part on the left side in the box with the white border selected the input channel.
In my case I renamed the input channel in "SETTINGS - Audio Devices" from its original title to "capture_FL + capture_FR". The input levels of this stereo input are also shown there, green colored on black background, in my case.
Now, very important, explicitly activate this track to actually record a signal, "arm it":
Click on the right side triangle in the box with the white border where in the deactivated state would only be a red dot painted in the center of the triangular space. It toggles now to the activated (to the "armed" state, as seen in my screenshot. Now all the triangle appears filled in red color and has painted now a white dot in its center.
Good luck!

Again, when you have armed the track and you point to the rectangle on the track AND have the properties box visible (get used to it - lots of useful information !) , you should be able to see the long input levels across the bottom. You can also see, if it's stereo, 2 meters; or just one if your input is a single channel.
(This is more useful if you "cheat" and take a stereo audio input, and treat the stereo input as 2 independent MONO inputs on, say, track 1 for voice and track 2 for guitar ??).

No it's not that - I've tried everything. It only happened after the last firmware update on the keyboard which introduced a deeper level of integration for some hosts. It seems Waveform needs updating to get that integration, although this should not have broken MIDI completely as it hasn't in other hosts.Peter Widdicombe wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 7:29 pm The MIDI "works with ROLI" might indicate you have the MPE enabled by default; and the NI may not be sending that.

What is also weird is if I then use MIDI capture that does work - so notes are not being placed in the track while recording but are clearly being registered in the bufferaMUSEd wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 2:12 pmNo it's not that - I've tried everything. Are you getting NOTHING from the NI interface, or only control info, or only getting note information? On the NI, what settings for the MIDI are there? There is probably a setting to indicate what control type is being used... The update may have reset it back to "factory default..." ?

It's nothing to do with the NI interface - it works fine in every other hostPeter Widdicombe wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 4:02 am Are you getting NOTHING from the NI interface, or only control info, or only getting note information?
