"You don't need other people, you only need Reaper"

Soon this will be true when Reaper A.I. takes over.
Interestingly enough, after their last shut down whim, I've lost trust in using it.

No AI, very high-quality time stretch, some basic built-in effects. You never have to go spelunking under the hood unless you want to. The only thing I'm missing is autotune, but that'll just make me sing on key... :D
Right! "Sing on key", something I need to focus on, all this computer stuff could make a person,("musician?") just lazy.

I support Cockos 100% and after the shut down i have even more respect for the company.

Golly , Grizzellda could prolly say alot here...just been reading the past few pages!!!

So, KVR addicts swimming in threads literally thousands of posts deep, :hihi: but just cannot stop.

See, I would feel comfortable with MuLab and a nice bunch of plugs, but honestly, I feel the need for a "couple more". You guys know why, right? Because it is far more efficient, (and, quite frankly, more impressive) to achieve nothing with 4 DAWs, than achieving nothing with only 1 DAW! :hihi:

Post

The most annoying thing on Kvr is people choosing to make things harder and expressing pride in doing such a thing. Just get the superior DAW (REAPER). This isn't political, we welcome those previously unaware and ill-informed.

One could easily argue that using Reaper is the definition of making things hard and expressing pride in doing such a thing. :hihi:

FYI I like Reaper a lot, but it's not because it's easy, far from it.

Sure, they do it all the time. My definition revolves around old folks who jerk around with old stuff (DAWS in this case) but never get anything cool done.

Recommending Reaper has become a sarcastic response, speaking personally

Hey, it's not Reaper...

:hihi:  :hihi:  It is REAPER!!!...

...and don't forget it!

Being that this is KVR & not to mention the brilliance of actual DAW itself. I can understand why Reaper is a fan favorite around here.
Very solid, no bloat, immensely modular & customizable and I would not say not a difficult program to understand & use at all. Out of the box recording setup is XLNT.
That being said, to me it's basic, out of the box production setup has some gaps. Now certainly you can set these things up yourself but nah... For me Studio Pro performs similar to an MPC, (which I like) & just fits me like worn in pajamas.
Reaper really is a great recording DAW tho. I can see why people who know about it & don't need "industry standards" ditched Pro Tools for Reaper. What I don't get is, why is this DAW so polarizing?

Reaper is so complicated that understanding it has become a status symbol among technophiles.

It's quite simple really. You have your morons on one end who can't even figure out how the transport works and thus assume the DAW "sucks" and then you have intelligent competent individuals on the other end who understand they have a brain that is to be utilized, thus, they do - which leads them to figure out how to make Reaper work for them.

Naw, maybe more because its developer wants it to be.
