An odd choice and a hindrance for any preset maker.

As I wrote above, the preset system is a totally closed ecosystem, there is no way one can collect preset assets and compile them other than via their store. They're shooting themselves in the foot big time.

I can absolutely understand why anyone would like to create a user-driven marketplace, and the ease to find new sounds - it's one of the reasons why I buy sounds for reFX Nexus - but why not allow both? That way you are secure if the developer stops, or gets gobbled up by a bigger fish.

They seem to be adding file based distribution later, as far as I understand it:

We're happy for people to share as much as they like. We have decided to build a file based system for this which will allow you to post patches online for people to download.
Leveraging the existing store / sync system was a quick way for us to enable sharing, but it's not really enough.

I demoed and its a nice enough looking and sounding synth, but in a world where so many similar synths exists and I own current (which is very similar), avenger, pigments, serum etc. I cant see a reason to buy it based on how it sounds (I didn't 'hear' anything new)...but its another option for anyone who doesn't already own a bunch of similar synths. Maybe I am just getting old/jaded...but a lot of synths are starting to look and sound very similar now...I know they all have their twists and differences (like the wavetable map feature), but ultimately they are all so advanced now can all makes the same sounds!

What I love on this synth is the workflow and tweakability.
It reminds me of Dune 3 or Rapid, where I also love the workflow and well thought out features.

I somehow have workflow problems with other mega synths like Icarus, Hive, Avenger, Massive X, Pigments, even Serum (but I need to invest more time in Serum 2 maybe), Falcon, Zebra.

With Ultra I could quickly make some very unique sounds, even with not using my own samples for the Ultra OSC. Whereas other synths are less intuitive and inviting for me, not sure how to say it. Ultra is just fun to work with IMHO.

I do agree its a nice layout and easy to use (although I didn't fully get my head around the wavetable map feature, but it didn't seem to make a lot of difference to the sound versus say Serum and Current) - Its a complement that it reminded me of 'Current' (a synth I find very easy to work with) - Hive and Rapid also great, couple of my favourites! I think if I didn't own Current I would have been more interested in this one.

I really think they should leverage the ultra oscillator more. ie. Being able to have each oscillator as an Ultra oscillator.

The other oscillators are cool as options and well implemented but the Ultra oscillator is the selling point of this synth, imho.

The too long:
need to admit: i have hard times with SW when it comes to synths.
And i have anyway a very hard time with most YT tuto videos, until they´re made in very specific ways.
Ultras videos were good so far. Exactly to my taste. But vs. the wavetable engine vs. working deeper with it vs. custom samples would i much appreciate to see even more indepth videos . Totally quick in one sense, and slow in another, at the same time. I at least need a kick to sit down and give it the required quality time. Videos "could" act as that kick

Maybe additional Ultra oscillator could be a CPU killer? (That's why it is designed as it is?).
Unison for Ultra and Analog engines is surprising missing (Serum provides it for all types of OSC but... it destroys my CPU )

I'm sure things are coming in the near future and the updates are free

Yeh, its definitely one to watch - For me at this stage, the FX are pretty vanilla and I need some convincing that the Ultra Oscillator can do things other synths can't (I probably need to understand it for that!) but I am open and will keep 'listening'.
