That's a lot of talk... But if they want Tracktion to be a Mac program, it will have to support AU... Feel free to continue using it on your PC...

Yeah, and if they want T to be a Window program, it will have to support DX...

What a load of crap.

Out of curiosity, as I don't own a mac, are there things you can buy as Audio Units that don't also come as a VST version? And if not, what's the big deal?

Thanks for letting us continue to use it on pc by the by, i was getting a bit worried for a moment

Thanks, I will.

So tell me, how come there aren't any AU-VST wrappers available yet?

Here's a little guess for you:

Clever chaps like Mod & Valley who know how computers work and can write good working code tend to use PC's because they're good value for money. Because they are stirling chaps, they tend to share their work with the rest of us for no more reward than our respect and thanks..

On the other hand, people who are a bit scared of technology, who need their hands holding, and who like their computer to look like a trendy table lamp, will probably buy Macs.

You pays your money, and takes your choice.. but don't whinge about it afterwards!

Its like buying a bycicle with stabilizers, then complaining that its no good for downhill speed racing.. DUH!!

Um, no, I would say people who are afraid of bad technology use Macs. I use Windows for my DAW myself because it is cheap, but that's about the only reason. If I could afford it I'd definitely be using a new dual G5.

I don't own this synth but I've heard a lot of good reports from people would like to use it as a native AU plug. Apparently it rocks

I knew I had read about this: http://www.audiomidi.com/common/cfm/pro ... m?pid=3878

Tell me does Apple let you use Google or is that a no no also

Now quit all the bitching, cross platform Host should support cross platform plug ins. :P

The FXpansion wrapper lets you use VSTs in a host that supports Audio Units (eg, Logic), not use Audio Units in a host that supports VSTs (eg Tracktion)

As for Zebra, there seems to be a VST version available for download on that website, so I'm not sure what that's an example of? On the techy page on that website it even says it works in Tracktion ....

Google is "bad technology" like everything else that runs on, or is in contact with Windows.

We should definitely wait for T2 before bitching. Who knows, maybe it already supports AU.

Does Google run on Windows? I was on their campus the other day, I should have asked. I'm guessing it's a UNIX like Sun. To clarify, it's Windows itself I have issues with, not all the great software that's available for it.

Anyway, AU support right now is a minor issue and you're right, it could even be in T2. I imagine FXpansion will make a AU to VST wrapper if it ever becomes a bigger issue. The only problem then is it's one more thing you'll have to pay for.
