In bitwig 5, there were 3 usefull automation modes : absolute, additive and multiplicative.
I couldn't find this modes in Bitwig 6. How is this feature now managed in Bitwig 6 ?

Reasonable for some I guess, maybe not for others?Dionysos wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 6:00 pm Kind of a reasonable design decision. Not every feature needs x different ways of achieving them.

I was thinking from the point of view of the developers. The functionality isn't gone, just this specific way of achieving it. Of course in an ideal world updating software would never break anyone's workflow, but achieving this usually results in Frankenstein's monster product design, and I'm glad that Bitwig isn't afraid to revamp things from the ground up occasionally.

Yes, Bitwig completely changed the automation. Automation is no longer inside of clips at all. They removed that entirely. The new approach is more consistent.Dionysos wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 9:37 pm I was thinking from the point of view of the developers. I liked the old add/multiply options, but they were also not entirely reliable depending on use case. It also meant having to go into a clip to edit it. Now, all automation can always be seen in the arranger/launcher. The old method had some advantage, but also disadvantage.
Now, automation is/can be entirely delinked. I can have a midi clip playing on a track in Arrange, and automation clips on that same track playing in the Launcher. I can have a single midi clip looping in the launcher, and automation clips running separately in the Launcher and moving between clips with 'next actions'.
One of the reasons I used the old multiply clip mode was because the automation editing was feeble in Bitwig. Now with the new tools, (automation clips, aliases, the new alt-drag editing, etc.) I can make the sort of complex curves in a single lane that I used to use 2 to create with multiply.
Of course I can set up 2 like before using a Macro, but most of the time I no longer need to.

What do you mean by "link automation to notes"?Boudin wrote: Sat Mar 21, 2026 5:50 pm Correct me if I'm wrong but it is still not possible to link automation to notes in B6 like in Logic Pro ?

Automation of notes is called expressions…
