100 Programs. One Chip. Unlimited Character.

There are two types of producers: those who think this reverb sounds "too colored," and those who refuse to mix a track without it. We meticulously recreated this cult-classic unit because sometimes, perfection is boring. You use it when you want your synth to float in space, your guitars to smear into a lush nostalgic wash, and your mix to have a sound that's unmistakably its own.

More ignorance about what software development assistance versus artistic content generation via AI is.

I'm not too sure about that in this case:

"The heart of the MidiVerb II is the custom DASP-16 (Digital Audio Signal Processor) chip designed by Keith Barr. The MDV-II faithfully recreates this chip, reproducing the signal flow of all 100 factory programs at the original 31,250 Hz internal sample rate. Every program produces the same output as the original hardware - including its characteristic warmth and bandwidth-limited charm.

Vintage Mode
Toggle vintage mode with the fuse icon in the toolbar to drop the internal engine from 44.1 kHz down to the original hardware's native 31,250 Hz sample rate. This lowers the Nyquist ceiling to ~15.6 kHz and stretches reverb tails and delay times to match the original unit, reproducing its characteristic darker, softer tone".

This is the same developer that released: "DEEP/4 is a painstaking recreation of one of the most powerful multi-effects processors ever built: The Ensoniq DP/4. Every algorithm has been rebuilt at the instruction level from the original 24-bit DSP hardware".

So I'm not getting A.I. slop vibes but I could be wrong, who knows these days.

At any rate I downloaded it yesterday just for fun thinking it's going to sound like sh....but hey wait a minute, I actually like the sound of this verb at least on acoustic drums.

I remember the hardware Alesis verbs not getting a lot of respect back in the day as they were considered low end consumer level boxes.

But I'll move this to my studio system for further testing which is rare that it sees any freeware so that's a preliminary endorsement I guess....

This is the second free Midiverb to be released this year, the previous one being open source. It's nice to have options, at least it makes me feel better about the uberverb drama from years ago and the Korneff which didn't have all the programs (bought both previously).

Great plugin, thank you! It would be great to have a bypass button on the panel next to the vintage mode. Even better if it were level matched!

Sounds wonderful, I really love reverbs with a lofi character. Golden age of emulation! Would love to see some other vintage verbs with more adjustable parameters emulated too.The other free Midiverb emulation mentioned has an interesting feedback parameter, but no Mac version so this one will do for me.

I hope one day people will be able to not just generically characterize everything as 'AI slop'. This has been getting some good reviews other places. Many thanks.

After a few tests this is surprisingly fun. Some cool sounds with character. Guess this will stay.

Linux would be nice; there is still a Niche in the specialized reverb department.

never tried an actual midiverb, but the two plugins sound quite different for the same settings.
in bitwig studio 6 some programs with some notes give some ugly digital artefacts... might be a bitwig thing, though... anyone else?

And another one is to come too. Midiverb, Midifex and Midiverb2 based on https://github.com/thement/midiverb_emulator but more refined and modernized.
