What you think of this phaser? Touch-sensitive to your playing dynamics. The OG Roland Phase 5 is about unobtainium at this point, but this looks like a fine replica.

Haven't messed with a BF2 for quite some time, but couldn't you turn the rate completely down to zero, and stop the sweep?
Can't find a way to do that in the plug in.

Kurt used both Small Clone and Stereo Polychorus, actually (the latter during In Utero studio sessions and the following tour).

In regards to Mu-Tron / Q-Tron, I was thinking Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia, actually (on guitar use-cases).

but also for my Clavinet funky stuff (I switch from wah to envelope filter, love 'em both). when I play Pigs (3 different ones), I improvise and throw in an env filter to mimick those gnarly pig sounds (as Floyd generally did on Animals record: pigs with bigmuffy guitar and talkbox, sheep's bleating with synths, put a few dogs through vocoder, as one casually would).
