in which A → B and returns to A
This is all about transformation. The title refers to the substitution cipher where one letter becomes another on encode and returns to the original letter on decode.

Life sends us things that turn us into something else. When they are over, we can return to what we were before.

No AI - No Loops - No Samples

This is the video extracted from the album:

For the gear hounds
Everything was done in Reason 13.5. I make all the sounds in the track, compose, arrange, and then mix and master ITB. Most of what you hear is stock Reason synths & effects. There are extra echoes etc from my own VST like 4 Lines Later. It's rare that I use reverb units for reverb ;-)

For those who listen to the album, the first track is rather deliberate in how it borrows from a famous analog synth line and then transforms it through other forms. If I were to be specific, it is like Moog > DX-7 > Jupiter 8 to set a sense of tone overall.

Most of the drums were synth patches - one patch for all the kit: Kik to HH across the keyboard. Old school indeed with charming compromises.

The video was made in DaVinci Resolve using a set of 15 slides I made in Afinity (which has replaced Inkscape) where I made then dragged letter tiles about.

A very nice instrumental! It has a lovely urban sound, creating a
somewhat eerie atmosphere with a deep sense of space. I like
it a lot! :tu:

Thanks

"Urban"! Didn't see that coming. Clearly not like Pubic Enema but I guess there is a sort of enclosed darkness v hope/connection thing going on. If that is what you felt then I am winning.

Very good Benedict! The ambiance is really nice to listen to. Nice that everything was synthesized. I could never.
