I recently splurged on some guitar hardware, the IK ToneX Plug, in hopes of gaining an audible bump up to the top level of excellent sound in that arena. Pretty sure that is a win, but now I need to upgrade the headphones in January
First impression of the linux Zebra 3...quite amazing!

After installing/registering the card.png, I opened the CLAPi version, chose a favorite sound designer, and played some sounds, expecting typical excellence. But there was more. It was like the room the sounds moved in, had been given some perfecting treatments, where the sounds had more depth in which to vibrate, and more distance between the outer limits of audible perception. This made the sonic movement within that space all the more enjoyable.

Having both the best keyboard sounds and best guitar sounds arrive in a single month, is a welcome canundrum. Gonna have to ramp up the practice sessions to do such wonderful things justice

Victor's Vibraphone preset is delightful. I added a CoCo ping pong, and GX Tube Tremolo, and took a little sonic vacation

Hi folks,
im highly impressed also of Zebra 3 while using UHE plugings on Linux. Im using Linux now for several years I have to give much credits to Berlin, cause Bitwig and UHE are the reasons for me to hold on the system and being part of the linux community!
Im looking foreward for the final version of Zebra 3. Greets!

Hey there, im using orange terror stamp to preamp my el. guitar. With Zebrify i found nice digital processing (reverb, delay, distortion and stuff). I wonder if Zebra 3 will provide such audio processing unit, that you can use...glokraw wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:11 am After installing/registering the card.png, I opened the CLAPi version, chose a favorite sound designer, and played some sounds, expecting typical excellence. I too recently bought Zebra 3 and I’m a Linux user. With Zebra3, Repro, Hive 2, Diva, Tx16Wx, Sforzando, Tal-Sampker, Apisonic Audio’s Speedrum 2, Tal-Drum, Quanta 2, Chipsynth OPS7, Surge-XT, Shortcircuit-XT, Cardinal, JUNE, and many others, there really is no excuse anymore for not being able to make great music—except maybe a lack of talent.
You can’t really blame the lack of tools anymore on Linux.
"I’m told I lie constantly when I say Linux is great — which is wild, because I’m apparently “misleading” you with things like: it boots, it runs my audio workflow, it stays stable, it gets updates, and it keeps existing despite being declared dead every year since forever. Also yes, it’s “too hard,” “too niche,” “no devs will ever care,” and “Linus complained once,” so clearly I must be fabricating my entire operating system out of pure delusion."

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Thanks for getting the linux version ready! Great sounds, and reasonable cpu use. What's not to love? Well...
About the gui: much of it seems to be dark olive drab with slightly less-dark text, the lack of contrast being a nuisance. If I boost system gui contrast, to gain readability, then other text in the gui that default with good contrast are too bright and washed out, and some daw elements are also too bright. I need the system gui to be overall low on brightness, to preserve eyesight, in visually friendly manner. It seems a skin file where text attributes might be edited is not yet available? (makes sense for a beta) I hope you'll consider increasing the default dark-panel/not-so-dark-text contrast for the next release. Also, having a readme pointing out a dozen or so common gui elements editable in the skin file would be helpful. Mi dos centavos
Cheers

I have all u-he synths since quite some time .. maybe 12 years ago. Will I have to deal with this card thing to get Zebra3 going or the license I already have, including for Dark Zebra, will be good to go ?
By the way, off topic, I'm listening to the tracks I added at the end of comments and replies here and while they might mean nothing for people, it makes such a good feeling to hear them many years after they were created out of thin air. It's actually more vivid than seeing old photographs. They are snapshots of fragments in time that are beyond appearances.
