Mu-Drum feature requests

Hello there!
I've tried several VST drum plugins, and I have to say that MuDrum remains my favorite for its modular structure, audio channels with effects and a smart controller assignment.
The only flaw is that you can't set the hihat choke between open and closed.
It would be nice a 16-pad structure by default, which is now a recognized standard and assignable to external controls in a better way.
These would definitely be major upgrades !

At work at the moment but basically put a 2 into 1 audio balancer module between the hi hat closed and the open pad and connect the pads so that they turn the balance parameter to full on and full off. Hope you understand.

Very nice modular creativity bibz1st
I assume users will also want a bit more out of the box choke solution.
Taken note on the wishlist.

It needs tweaking a little to quickly stop the open hi hat sample rather than just turning down its volume as it might still be decaying when the balance parameter (or the open hat volume) goes back to 100%

yes, you're right.bibz1st wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 2:36 pm It needs tweaking a little to quickly stop the open hi hat sample rather than just turning down its volume as it might still be decaying when the balance parameter (or the open hat volume) goes back to 100%
it should be a sample playing stop instead of a volume on/off

Speaking of Mu-Drums, I found two very intriguing features on the drum sequencer Behringer RS9, "Flam" and "Probability," which make drum patterns more natural (In Ab.Live the probability is like an option on the velocity lane)
You probably planned these features at the modular level: if so, how could I do that?
Expecially for the probability ....

You can create random flams using a parallel Event Delay module.
In fact this is build into the factory MuDrum presets, see the "Delay" frame with the Time and Rand knobs in the pad editors.
Now when you use 2 layers for that MuDrum pad and add some random delay to the 2nd layer and a bit lower volume and/or other sonic differences, you get those flam effects. The flam layer can be an as different sound as you want, in an extreme case it could even be a completely different preset or plugin.

And for your probability just put a Note Dispatcher between the mudrum note processor and the snare (for example) then double click the note dispatcher and choose an amount of unconnected outputs.

Very good advice !!!bibz1st wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2026 11:58 am And for your probability just put a Note Dispatcher between the mudrum note processor and the snare (for example) then double click the note dispatcher and choose an amount of unconnected outputs.
I can even use the note dispatcher on different pads ... holy randomness

As for stopping the open hi hat sample, you could attatch another randomiser module set to zero to the open hat samplers decay and release knobs, or maybe an adsr / multi point envelope to gradually bring those knobs to zero.
