I've always found QuickTime to be pretty much superior to WMP.Tingle wrote:I'd of prefered to see windows media player which is mac as well, but then quick time is probably ok.

QT works fine for me on XP. I do a lot of scoring for adds that are in quicktime format.Beardedone wrote:All this is excellent news. The aux sends & returns answer my need for flexible routing and may obviate the need for a mixer. Quicktime I worry about though - I hope it is more Windows friendly than it usd to be. I had banned it from my DAW a while back. Sonar supports QT, so I may risk installing it.Anyone had good experience with QT on WinXP?

Ok, so there is a track with timing info then?Beno wrote:Answering some questions.
Quicktime movies are displayed in a floating window. It can be made to stay on top of other is desired. The existing audio from the quicktime track can be monitored or not as desired.
Ben
Right now what I'm doing is this: I set Vegas timing to measures&beats and set proper tempo, then bring bar 1 at the start of the musical piece I have to do. Then I have to take notes for the lenght of the piece as well as location, in bars, of variation in the musical piece. I then switch to Tracktion and start composing armed with my notepad...Then render the thing and bring unto Vegas to see how everything fits and make adjustement if necessary.
Just so I understand, I could do away with the notepad entirely and just export my Vegas timeline section to QT, and bring that unto Tracktion to compose against?
If that's the case, I love you guys

The main problem there is that Microsoft doesn't keep the Mac version up to date. You can't play the most recent movies on the web with the Mac version, it's been like that for more than a year. Apple at least keeps both platforms with the same version.Tingle wrote:I'd of prefered to see windows media player which is mac as well, but then quick time is probably ok.

I hate quicktime and have had nothing but bad experiences with it. I hope this doesn't bump up the price too - I'd don't want or need this feature and don't want to pay extra just for a "pro" feature I won't use. Sends are good thoughSuperFly76 wrote:QT works fine for me on XP. I do a lot of scoring for adds that are in quicktime format.Beardedone wrote:All this is excellent news. Yes, QT Pro does full screen. One of the perks of the full version. Anyway, I've personally always had good experiences with QT.

Very few actually. The problem would be having to install it in the first place if T2 requires it on installation - I hope it gives us the option not to have video support - I don't need it and won't have QT on my system ( if I want to play MOV files I use Quicktime Alternative which is basicaly an enhanced media player that has MOV support and can play full screen).djsubject wrote:are there not converters out there to convert the fininshed QT movie to ....well wotever format we want?
