Ok it's been out for a short while, and I'm wondering how is everyone doing with the release of 6.0.0.

- Bugs?
- Issues?
- Workflows screwed up?
- Productivity better/worse?
- Made more problems for themselves?
- Better to stick with the last version v5.3.13?

Bit wiggers, let me know your dig on wig bit 6 point whatever.

What's the score?

I wont be updating till 6.1.x but am very curious to know if the shait has hit the fan or not....

It's expensive it's professional it's full featured. Answer. My plugins reload every time I load Bitwig. Why? Reason is better and reasoning is better.

5.3.13 does the same... ?

I'm curious whether 6.0.0 is stable or not. Will it twitch like an epileptic building a strobe light when I install it on my 9950x3D 5090 Scarlet 8i6 gen 3 system... :o

As they haven't already updated it to 6.0.x yet, either suggests they are working on a bucket load of problems or have none....

I've found it to he very stable, but also since beta v4-5.

I like the updated UI, it feels better and is snappier. No twitching in the UI. I think all their work on the past year on the graphics system has worked out well.

Generally same bitwig but a bit better and quite a few great new features.

Discussions like these naturally motivate responses with problems rather than responses only saying that everything is fine and there is a big improvemeny over Bitwig 5.

Nothing like trying Bitwig 6 (demo version if needed). 30 minutes on a new project, 30 minutes on a copy of one of your Bitwig projects. Then you'll see in a way than no online discussion is able to explain.

From what I've heard this could cause problems with keeping my previous installation of Bitwig, I'd rather not risk it.

There's a verified method on windows to create a dual installation. It's not an issue on Mac.

No explosions here. Bitwig 5 projects load fine. I haven't tested enough to find all the gems just yet, but so far I've noticed that selecting single midi notes with the mouse seems to work better now. I kept getting some sort of range selection in version 5. So that's an improvement.

There are still some odd behaviors in the arrangement view when zooming in/out using the keyboard. Bitwig feels very mouse oriented when it comes to zooming. (I'm coming from stuff like Samplitude, SoundForge and Reaper.)

6 is great for me. Im running it on a 3 year old i9 12900KF system with a 3090ti GPU, and the only issue Ive had has been a brief controller detection bug and this other audio crackle thing that may be related to my specific stacked audio interfaces. Ive been using BWS long enough to have developed decent muscle memory for the mouse navigation, so this feels smooth and natural to me at this point, and I havent seen any program crashes or audio engine failures in a while.

No v6 manual as yet which is a pain as so many things have changed so you're left to click around until you find out by accident how it now works.

They've had about eight months to do it from the first beta. Absolutely baffling.

Instructions, who needs instructions :hihi:

I like to press every button and change every setting so I can work it out for myself and see what happens.

"Click, did that change anything? Presses play... Does that sound different? Hits a random key on the midi controller... Sounds the same... Does anything look different? Hmmm ok... Guess I'll come back to that... Clicks on main timeline and :help: :ud:  "... :hihi:
