There are plenty of patches for older versions that still work. All up you get about 150 presets with the instrument, which is reasonable for the price. I assume the v3 patches are specifically showing off new/upgraded features.

The demos for OB-Xtreme 3 in this thread really nail the Oberheim sound in a way that I haven't heard from other plugins. Am I wrong about that?

I got OB-Xtreme early on, when it was still V1, and you're not wrong. Hell, you're not wrong! Aly knows his OB like his five fingers. PHAT is drippin', BBQ is cookin'. And it's been like that since day one. OMG!

He's also a major Minneapolis funk nut, so all your syncy syncs, all your chorusy saws, whacky modulations, he's got it. When I feel "controversial", I go OB-Xtreme.

My 5 go-to's overall. OP-X Pro, OB-Xtreme, J3PO's bank for Arturia OP-Xa.

Not OB, but very much in the same fashion. Nick Semrad's banks for Prophet-V, Softube, TAL, whatever, Nick's a legend, Swan Audio's Classic Prophet for Repro-5.

Except for Omnisphere, I don't think anybody extracted more nasty grease from those old synths than these guys. Is it even inhumanly possible? Please point me to that party!

In any case, I quit looking. Those have everything I need. I also wanted a well supported JX-8P and that I got as well, so things are peachy

Last but not least, did I mention for my 15$ I spent on OB-Xtreme V1 many moons ago, I got free support and free updates to V2 and V3 versions? Aly is the coolest!

BTW, for people inquiring, I got in touch with Aly recently and he's far from done! The funky brew is very much cooking and the PHAT is ever drippin'! Expect no less from "Partyman" Aly James!

Didn't he say he got in touch with Aly? Doesn't that explain why he said what he said? As in, Aly told him he was far from done.

I dunno if OB Xtreme nails the OB sound but it's a great f**king synth that sound amazing in a way that feels more like its own thing than it does like any of the other Oberheim emulations I have. Maybe it's more like the OB sound, unleashed.

OB-Xtreme 3.0 coming out soon!
