Thanks Urs - alas, this doesn't seem to work. The behavior is the same whether attack is changed directly from the module slider or via modulation from the mod matrix with Gate (or gate via / as a secondary). The previous note(s) still instantly switch to the new attack setting.
I just tried Urs suggestion. It works.

Don't use Via... set MW to modulate Env Attack and the S/H Matrix Modifier for that mod slot set to Gate. Then it works. Start with a slow attack and and move the modwheel and the attack stays slow and the next note is fast.

After the final beta we have a final final beta:

Totally understandable. I can't even feed 20 families from what I do :hihi: , but based on my own needs, the same principle applies.

Beautiful! Just upgraded the 'Beta' to 'Purchase'.

A fantastic addition to the whole u-he family of instruments.

Ficciones wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2026 12:37 am Instead of a boring old arp I'd like to see a Zebra CVilization type module that does 4x4 matrix rotation of modulation signals and destinations.
For sequencing I'm thinking CVilization Mode 3, like having two or more sequences where one sequence can "leak" into the other, but also be restored to its original form.
Very nice! Would this include step record and overdub? And different length sequences?
Some kind of CVz Matrix Rotation is available in the audio and fx Grid in Zebra 3 with the 4-in-4 mixer. It does not have a Matrix, but it can scan 4 ways on the output or input side. Powerful tool when you wanna dynamically route anything into or from anywhere else.
That's great for the audio grid, but imagine a 4 in one out in conjunction with a one in four out modulation mixer that can take one of four clocks (i.e., LFOs which are now de facto clock sources in Z3) and distribute it to one of four different envelope triggers. You can get some very nice unpredictable but compelling swung rhythms this way because all the triggers happen between each other. Edit: the math modules are a bit like this already

I've noticed that in Bitwig Studio, the arrow keys don't work for browsing presets in the plugin's own preset browser — this affects Zebra 3 as well as other u-he plugins. Clicking through presets one by one is a bit of a workflow killer.

I brought this up with the Bitwig team, and they pointed the finger at the plugin side. That said, I haven't run into this issue in any other DAW, so I'm not sure that fully explains it.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a known workaround, or is this something on the radar for a future fix?

Thanks!

Working for me in the CLAP version (on Mac) - also works using the Bitwig browser which loads Zebra 3 patches

It works here... BWS 5 + Zebra 3 CLAP.

You don't by any chance have the UI Theme Editor activated? Cursor keys are reserved for other things there...

Thank you!

FWIW, preset browsing in Zebra 3 is working correctly in Bitwig 6.0 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max and macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 -- at least, it is on my machine. I'm using the VST3 version.

are you still planing on adding release velocity I have been waiting on this the entire time I haven't actually started composing because im waiting for this feature (no big deal Im a photographer for a living) I just would like to know if you still plan on working on it. I think you said it would be in the second release right ? ill be waiting for that I guess. if not please let me know so I can switch to a timbre based workflow. also no pressure I can wait as long as I need. I've already waited a few months another few is not going to hurt me its worth it to get release velocity and zebra 3 in one synth at witch point zebra 3 will obtain G.O.A.T status and I switch from phase plant which I am currently using. although I admit I haven't ben doing synths much because transitions are hard for me with autism and all it docent make sense to make new instruments in something else and get attached to them and than end up using zebra 3 and I can tell this synth is the best ever made.

Yes, for version 3.1 maybe. But we did not have the resources to add it to 3.0
