I understand, I was just wondering about general availability in other stores on release day (or 1/2 days after). Full price split into 3 is doable for me whereas intro price in one go isn't unfortunately.Chris-S wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 6:28 amI think the Intro price is only available when ordered at Uhe.tlvid wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2026 6:22 pm Has it been mentioned yet whether this will be available on Plugin Boutique, Gear4Music or Disc DJ Store at release? Basically I'll need to buy it in 3 using Klarna as I can't afford full whack so I'll have to do it via one of those.

That'll be fixed by Monday.Teksonik wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2026 8:59 pmHere's another one. If I could post in the official bug report thread I would.
When this popup appears, there doesn't seem to be a way to dismiss it, right click, left click, click on another part of the GUI, none work to close it.

Yep. That's exactly what made me buy it.pdxindy wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 5:32 pm The sound quality and sonic flexibility is incredible!

Okay I've had time to test 21764 and I'm happy to report that drag and drop of wave files now works in Tracktion Waveform Pro. We now need to grab the file icon to the left of the arrow for drop to work, something that Tracktion must have changed in a recent version as previously we needed to grab the wave icon on the far left:
However I got another Windows 11 auto restart crash this morning in Waveform so that tends to rule out FL Studio as the cause where such a crash happened earlier. Here's the Win 11 Event Viewer log although I don't know if it would mean anything to anyone outside of Microsoft's team:
Here's the .dmp file:
It seems to be directly related to the drag and drop of larger samples and attempting to perform another action while the waveform is being calculated which can take up to 20 seconds depending on the size of the .wav file.
I don't know if importing larger samples is really in the officially sanctioned use case of Z3 but it does yield some interesting results so should not be overlooked as a sound design option.
All in all I'm loving Z3 and the new UI has helped everything click into place.

Here's a quick example of what larger sample import can achieve. Certainly not the finest possible example but I'm still learning what samples import the best.
They don't import perfectly 1:1 but the conversion does most often yield some interesting, useful, and at times pleasantly unexpected results. Just another tool in the toolbox.
Tubular Bell, a Metallic pluck, and two different Choir Oscs.

The waveform support is a broken mess, hence experimental and best suited for single cycle waveforms. The person who originally wrote that code is not an employee with us anymore, so our choice was "completely take out until we can deal with this" or "keep it for the single cycle waveforms, and try to safe guard for the worst crash bugs". Apparently we do not understand the code well enough to safe guard for all crashes, but we left it in because it may be useful for some people.
We'll completely rework the waveform import code at some point. But as the results were never very predictable nor very convincing, we can't afford to prioritise it.
So yes, the ticket exists, but I can't yet say when we'll schedule it. There is no need to report the issue again.

Building wavetables in Z3 using single cycle waveform import works really well, one can combine the most diverse shapes into something wonderful or build linear transitions/morphs, everything is possible.

Also, we have a Release Candidate:

Ok fair enough. I have lots of other synths that do allow full sample import so I'm not missing anything so I'll just ignore the option in Z3 until it becomes a priority.Urs wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 3:15 pm The waveform support is a broken mess, hence experimental and best suited for single cycle waveforms. I believe that if you had Z2 and ZHZ before Zebra legacy was released you get Z3 free. If you only had Z2 I think it's a 30 (whichever currency) upgrade. Something like that.

In contrast to the audio engine which is innovative and optimized, the UI is like old code was pushed and scripted to do things it never was intended for, with these animations running at 10 fps like it's PowerPoint.
I fully expected the UI to be resizable to see all of the modules without scrolling, but it only scales like it's still the same code as Diva's. The same love for the audio should have gone into the UI too.
