Yes, thank you, I think that solution will work well (at least for my case). And yes, of course it's not urgent.Urs wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 5:47 pm It is also very simple to make a script file with brighter text. For now, maybe make a Zebra 3 - Theming thread (pinned)?Urs wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 5:47 pm It is also very simple to make a script file with brighter text. We can either provide the text file itself, or just tell people which lines to change. I just don't have the time to do this right now.
Then questions and answers, like how to change the text label brightness, will have a place to live.

First of all: This synth sounds absolutely amazing and looks beautiful! What a hit!
but
180 or 250 is, unfortunately, completely out of touch with reality or my reality
I have a lot of respect for u-he and their products, and there’s no doubt a lot of work went into Zebra 3, but that doesn’t change the fact that music production is being devalued at every level, and that’s why this price for the 300 softsynth is beyond...
I have to pass, and that’s not because of a lack of enthusiasm for the product or its quality.
But the last thing I’d accuse u-he of is greed, so maybe my criticism is out of place. With the competition, it’s usually the new customers who hold the upper hand. With u-he, for once, it’s the loyal, long-time customers—so at this point, I’m not even sure why I’m writing this post. Maybe I should just write to my boss and ask for a raise...
Did you read that, boss?? You damn nitpicker! I can't afford Zebra 3—it's a total tragedy

I've had Zebra2 and ZebraHZ for 4 or 5 years but never used Z2 really although I did use HZ a moderate amount. Z2 never seemed to qualify as impressive or even sufficient sound wise compared to my other top synths.stromkraft wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:30 am A question to those of you that have tried Zebra 3, how likely is it in your opinion that someone that never liked Zebra, 1 or 2 — it just sounded "off" no matter how much I tried to like either incarnation — but have loved basically every other instruments from u-he since, including freebies like TN6, will like this new dazzling updated version?
I downloaded the beta, even though the space Z3 is likely to occupy in my studio is pretty much taken. I will make up my own mind by trying, but still interested what fans have to say.
Zebra 3 otoh I forecast being one of my few primary synths. It's already made it into every track I've tried it out on. Diva & Bazille are my other 2 most used u-he's. Z3 exceeded my expectations & Imo it sounds significantly better and rivals any of the current top softsynths. It's really night and day. I've retired Z2 now though I'm keeping HZ on the vsti folders list.
In any case, I came here to post that the latest beta has been stable for me. Hoping for multicore and maybe a few stock options for gui's though I am fairly neutral about the new one. I liked the green one better probably but tbf the new one is easy on the eyes which is the main thing all said and done.

Perhaps someone in the know could confirm whether this will be available on Plugin Boutique, Gear4music or Disc DJ Store on release next week? I'm planning to buy it in 3 installments using Klarna as even the intro price is too much for me in one go at the moment. Thanks!

Dune, Phase Plant, Serum and Pigments are all $200 or more.Parco Molo wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:50 pm

You can get Pigments or Phase Plant for much cheaper though, they have frequent sales for $99 and license transfer can be even cheaper.pdxindy wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 11:33 pmDune, Phase Plant, Serum and Pigments are all $200 or more.Parco Molo wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:50 pm

Indeed. I think ~$200 for a flagship softsynth is pretty good. However...life...i get his point.pdxindy wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 11:33 pmDune, Phase Plant, Serum and Pigments are all $200 or more.Parco Molo wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:50 pm

I don't disagree, and I don't have a complaint about the price. It's only features I feel missing...exmatproton wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 12:05 amI think loyalty prices are more fair; i got Z3 for 0.loctune wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 12:03 amYou can get Pigments or Phase Plant for much cheaper though, they have frequent sales for $99 and license transfer can be even cheaper.pdxindy wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 11:33 pmDune, Phase Plant, Serum and Pigments are all $200 or more.Parco Molo wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 10:50 pm

Our resellers can start selling Zebra 3 from Monday afternoon as well, but we do not know how long it takes for them to add it to their shops.tlvid wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 11:11 pm Perhaps someone in the know could confirm whether this will be available on Plugin Boutique, Gear4music or Disc DJ Store on release next week? On Intel Mac, box appears around the LFO tool while selecting it. This is not the case though on ARM chip which is working as expected. Contrast is much better, although there is some shading differences between the LFOs/ MSEGS on the outlines of the knobs compared to the filter and OSC sides (left/right). Also some small general shading and colour issues around the knobs of some modules. Personally I would go slightly darker shades around the grey OSCs and a slightly lighter line. UX wise I think the Synthesis, Pitches, and Presets boxes could be a fraction bigger seems a little silly to have space around those selectors while things like undo take up the whole height of that top bar. Other than that for me as a user, it's good to go!
EDIT: I still don't know why on the Noise Generator it's Filter 1 and Filter 2, just make it LP and HP like before, so much easier to remember which knob does which. And not having drawable MSEG windows on the modulations side like in the previous beta.

I have a feeling that the grid move Y and grid step options should also be shown in the tools section on the edit page.
Currently there's a lot of switch back and forth between the shapes and edit page...

Probably depends on how you interpret the mousewheel movement. If you do it like FabFilter does, there's plenty enough precision. But what is more important is that you with a single flick of the wheel can quickly go from really wide to quite narrow in an instant. That is in my experience far more important than having super precise control over Q.. and if you do need precision, simply scroll the wheel slowly and you get much tinier increments of change.Urs wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 3:23 pmFun fact: When I wrote the first incarnation of the visual EQ editor in 2004 or so, I tried scroll wheel for Q and found it too imprecise. People at the same time requested right-click+drag, as this is "how everyone else does it". Times change, I guess. Maybe we should wrap this in a preference.muki wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 2:37 pm+1+1+1+1bmanic wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2026 12:13 pm Feature Request (mouse related): Could we please be able to adjust the EQ module nodes 'Q' value with the mouse wheel? Currently mouse wheel on top of an EQ node does absolutely nothing. Mouse wheel adjusting Q is pretty much standard as it is right now (thanks to FabFilter Pro-Q which everybody has copied).
YES please !!!!
pretty pretty please
imho also true for filterscape/filterscapeVA
the ctrl- doesn't do the trick imho and is laggy
and only works if i first clickt ctrl and then do the click-dragging
and not freely whilst (i.e.: drag the EQ dot then hit ctrl to freely adjust Q) ...
already wanted to write this myself, but took a while
to read through all of those messages...
Yeah, it's never going to rival the precision of a mouse click + drag gesture but it's Q we're talking about here.. it's usually considered the least important parameter in terms of fidelity when it comes to an EQ.

Here is a video demonstrating the buggy mouse click + drag behavior on knobs. In the example it's one of the knobs on the envelope but this behavior happens on absolutely all knobs in the interface.

Hope this helps! Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Cheers!
