Hi everyone,

we are almost there. Here's the first (and hopefully only) RC of Zebra 3.0.

Downloads:

Zebra 3.0 RC1 21793 Mac
Zebra 3.0 RC1 21793 Win
Zebra 3.0 RC1 21793 Linux

Licenses, Pricing

Everyone eligible for a free upgrade (owners of both Zebra 2 & The Dark Zebra licenses from before they became Zebra Legacy) should already have their license in their account. Head over to our My Licenses page to request your license card.

Zebra 2 license owners (from before it became Zebra Legacy) can upgrade to Zebra 3 for 30€ – just also head over to our My Licenses page, your license email contains a link.

This is the last chance to purchase a Zebra 3 license at the introductory price of 179,-€ here (note, this is 70€ off from 249€, so this is better than anything we'd be able to offer owners of Zebra Legacy):

Pre-Order Zebra 3 for 179€

Important:

The pre-order offer will end early morning next Monday (CEST Berlin, Germany). Please note that depending on your timezone, it might still be Sunday at your location when the offer ends.

The beta licence will no longer work in this RC build.

Changes since the "Almost RC" two days ago:
  • Updated user guide
  • Final factory library tweaks
  • Removed Beta License
  • Added support for custom themes
  • New preference option to invert mod matrix slider scrolling direction
  • Fixed: Showcase smart folder was hidden by default
  • Fixed: tabs were switching when assigning MSEG or Mapper to Osc parameters
  • Fixed: mouse cursor reappeared on slider if mod depth knob was adjusted
  • Fixed: mod matrix sliders could reset to zero when touched
  • Fixed: issue when using Glide in MPE mode
  • Fixed: issue when using Ctrl B in MPE mode
  • Fixed: MSEG & Mapper colour coding could switch to white on targets
  • Fixed: MSEG crashed if max number of points was reached
Known Issues:
  • Entering value strings via key control might not work correctly
  • Loading the Init preset will not reset all parameters in Bitwig when using CLAP (Bitwig bug)
  • Preset adapter to load Zebralette 3 presets inside Zebra 3 is not finished yet
  • Drag & drop .wav files from host browser to plugin doesn't work in some hosts
  • Hidden mouse cursor will reappear if a key is pressed in Live (Ableton bug)
  • Modulation depth indicator UI glitch when swapping Osc FX slots
  • Rack scrolling won’t work if you hover next to a parameter
  • Ctrl ABCD mod depth colour coding sometimes switches to wrong colour
  • Some quirks in the curve editor will be fixed later
  • VST3 failing plugin scan in Digital Performer
  • Guide curves are only saved for MSEG 1, not for 2-4
  • Linux: curve editor mouse cursor icons not working
  • Linux: Modal Resonator Partials Display is glitching
  • Windows: Backspace to delete modules does not work
  • Target Finder won't find targets if they are not visible
  • No module preset option for curve sets yet
  • Filter can cause preset to fall silent
  • No multicore support yet
Special Notes:
  • Minimum system requirement on Mac is OS X High Sierra.
  • Ctrl A-D macro feature is experimental, the parameter values are currently not saved.
  • Automation in projects created with the beta versions will be broken.
  • Waveform import from .wav files is an experimental feature.

I note this one has 9 more presets than the last one (1210 vx 1201), is there a list of the 9 new ones?
thanks

Hate that song. But I love "Carrie".

I don't have a list but they're from the "Merlin" guy, 9 extra ones.

Hi Urs and Victor, May I ask when will multicore support be implemented... this is literally the only one feature that i am waiting for... my cpu can run 7 instances of repro 5 so I wonder how it will cope with this final Rc version.

Thanks Viktor.. Loving his stuff so more is definitely better.

I am not sure if it is deliberate, but the patches in templates aren't tagged as Zebra Factory 3.0 (I of course did that on my install)

Yes, deliberate, I don't see them as "factory library" content necessarily, in the same way that the designed presets are.

We had feature freeze some time ago... we'll give multicore a try once we figure out how to do it on modern asymmetric CPU structures.

I see the theme support is working now since this RC version! Now to figure it out! :tu:

Dang you guys are fast. I haven't got to check out the new UI yet but the theme support will be fun to play around with.

Thanks for making a synth I actually get excited to use! It all makes a lot of sense and is fast as heck to get some patches together that sound great.

My cats need a bit of dental work so I have to figure out if I'll be able to snag that discount in time, but I really don't mind paying retail in a few weeks. I waited far too long to give the beta a try, and you folks earned every penny. Thank you

Hi,

what does this mean:

Code: Select all

Loading the Init preset will not reset all parameters in Bitwig when using CLAP (Bitwig bug)
Does it mean that preset loading is flawed completely? I don't understand why it's only the init preset? Do you mean Bitwig's init preset mechanism? Do you know if this will be fixed in Bitwig 5, too?

And does per-voice-modulation via CLAP work already? If not, is VST3 Zebra3 currently the better choice?

Go Zebra Go!
