I got bored of standard Delays. So I built Manta.

Uncle E wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2026 7:41 am This delay is a multi-tap with a nice interface. Sirial is free and does most of the same things. PSP 608 can also do most of the same things and I bet a lot of people here already own it.

So when somebody comes along to your shop wanting to buy Soundtoys Echoboy you tell them: "Don't bother, Sirial is free and does most of the same things..."
Over the years I experienced Eric as a cool dude with good tips pointing towards plugins and use cases.
Yes, he has a shop and I have good experiences with him there too.
Generally I see Eric the way I see cool devs like Urs who talks positively about friends in the industry.
A genuinly helpful, friendly guy.

All cool, Ben. I am not upset.

The only thing I wished it had (because it seems like no delay plugin seems to have this) is the ability to change the pitch (pitch up/down) of each individual tap. Are there even any delays that have this function? If not, why hasn’t this been done? If there is a plugin like this, anyone care to name drop it?

So painful to look at though and likewise operating it. A real shame the Logic team has not yet given that a rework.

People usually don’t ask, but yes, I’ve been recommending Sirial to everyone I know. More to the point, it’s a multitap like Manta, whereas Echoboy is not AFAIK.

Pretty sure you can do multitap on Echoboy
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

Yes, up to 16, each with freely controllable delay-time and volume...

according to its developer, Sirial was actually inspired by Echoboy by the way (something potentially worth keeping in mind for anyone who wished to recommend it :hihi:).
It is loosely based on EchoBoy Tap mode, with the novelty that it uses serial delay lines instead of delay taps, this hybrid approach enables the versatility of multi-tap delays with the natural decay (optional) and coloring of standard delays, producing a more pleasant and realistic sound.

Ah, thanks, now I see it. Rhythm Echo.

Ohmboyz infinity is pretty off the charts when it comes to individual control over taps.

once again ChowMatrix is quite incredible with the control it gives - one caveat tho is that the view of the delay system has no zoom which makes it a bit tedious to edit with the sort of complex delay networks it can create. But probably easier to visualise than Blue Cat's Late Replies which can also become as complex as your processing power allows

I love this lots!

Her statement there would be no Delay offering something like this is very overdriven/wrong...

Relayer is about 10€ cheaper and from a well known company... so easy pass on this one...
You can get Relayer for next to nothing these days!

Similar concerns already mentioned here re feedback FX or lack of. The vid looks like it's only pre and post FX, not in the feedback loop - is that right? Otherwise I like the look of the envelope to control feedback, nice idea, but it's a deal-breaker for me if no feedback FX.

If you compare Echoboy with, for example, D16 Tekturon, Echoboy is not even close to a multitap delay. Having control over delay time and volume only doesn't make it multitap IMHO.
