pekbro wrote: Sun Mar 29, 2026 8:08 pm Heh, I'd like to see some kind of looper myself, couple that with all the reverb options and one should be able to get into chase bliss mood territory via Spectrus. :tu:

I expect some kind of sampling buffer (slicing, scanning, granular etc) is going to be high on your request list.

-Cheers

*Ooo, distortion/sat, I find that I am missing that a bit, when using it.
Hey pekbro,

Great idea, sounds like fun, added to the list! We have a Saturator in Spectrus under the Utility category when adding a module. Have a look at the Saturator entry in the manual: https://morphulus.com/manual#fx-saturator
More saturation and distortion in various forms are coming down the road!

[UPDATE 5] Spectrus 1.1.0 is out - Granular Cloud Reverb added
Spectrus 1.1.0 is live. This update adds a 22nd effect and brings a significant UI refresh. Free update for everyone - Free, Demo, and Pro users.

What's new in 1.1.0:
  • Cloud Reverb - new granular texture reverb, and 52 factory presets across Bright, Dark, Ethereal, Organic, Spatial, and Textural categories.
  • Dark/Light UI themes with four container shape presets (Sharp, Rounded, Pill, Circle) - every UI element updates live, no reload needed.
  • Variable Stereo Input control on every effect - blends between classic mono-summed input (as used in hardware units like the Lexicon 224) and full stereo processing.
  • Per-slot Air & Body knobs for per-effect tonal shaping.
  • Per-module accent colors on rotary knobs.
  • Glacier Smoother knob, Ember Stereo FDN update, and significantly enhanced Ember harmonic saturation.
  • Plate Reverb low-frequency fixes.
  • Saturator Chebyshev mode rebuilt with T1-T4 polynomials and 2x oversampling.
  • Opt-in update notifications - no personal data sent.

BTW, what kind of copy protection do you use? I'm not a fan of Vendor Dependent copy protection--in other words:

"Vendor‑dependent copy protection" = Any licensing where continued use of legally purchased software depends on the vendor (or their servers) being available now or at any time in the future.

This includes:

* Any online activation (even once)
* Server‑validated licenses
* Account‑based activation portals
* Third‑party‑tied activation (PACE, Verifone, etc.)
* No documented offline or escrowed fallback
* Machine / hardware ID tracking

Essentially, the honest want to be able to buy the software, back it up (along with the authorization), and restore it at any future date to a new computer.

I'm not against Copy Protection altogether--I know piracy is a problem. There are several companies that have found a way to make this work, such as U-he, Plogue, and recently TAL-Software, who have a hybrid system that somehow makes it all work. I think TAL essentially has a hybrid form of challenge response where if the company goes out of business or the server is taken down, the software will still authenticate for the purchasers.

Anyway, I hope that explains what I'm trying to ask. :D What copy protection do you use? :)
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Hey audiojunkie

From https://morphulus.com/manual#license

9. License & Support
Free vs. Pro
Spectrus Free includes 7 effects: Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tremolo, Echo, Plate Reverb, and Saturator. The full 4-slot architecture, routing system, and preset system are fully functional.

Spectrus Pro unlocks 15 additional effects including Vintage Chorus, Ring Modulator, Rotary, Sample & Hold, Tape Delay, Spectral Delay, and 9 additional reverb algorithms (Prism, Bloom, Ember, Shimmer, Freeze, Glacier, Cloud Reverb, Velvet Room, and Velvet Hall).

Activating a License Key
After purchasing Spectrus Pro, you'll receive a license key via email. To activate:

1. Right-click the Spectrus logo in the top-right corner of the plugin.

2. Select "Enter License Key..." from the menu.

3. Either paste the key directly into the text field, or click "Load File" to browse for a .lic file.

4. Click "Activate".

Verification is instant - no internet connection required. On success, the plugin immediately unlocks all Pro effects and the Demo/Free toggle disappears.

Note: Spectrus uses fully offline license verification. After your initial purchase and key delivery, no internet connection is ever needed and never needs to be re-validated.
Managing Your License
Once activated, right-click the Spectrus logo to see "Licensed to: [your email]" displayed in the menu. Select "Manage License..." to view your license details or clear the license from this machine.

Your license key is saved locally at Documents\Spectrus\license.key and persists across DAW restarts and system reboots. You can use the same key on multiple machines.

You said that there would eventually be a release for macOS, and you've absolutely delivered. Thank you for supporting older operating systems, and for all of the updates that you've been releasing on a steady basis.

You get bonus points for having such a user-friendly licensing system, and an extensive user manual on your website. You've obviously put a lot of work into developing and supporting Spectrus. And now that Mac is supported, I'm in. :tu:

I agree on the licensing system!! These days, I avoid software that doesn't have licensing like this. Even on Linux there are plenty of options these days! :D
