Spectrus features 23 studio-quality effects in one powerful plug-in. Route, stack, and shape your sound with complete creative freedom.

Why Spectrus?

  • 4-Slot Modular Architecture: Chain up to 4 effects in series or parallel. Each slot has independent level control and wet/dry mixing for precise sound design.
  • Flexible Signal Routing: Route any slot to receive from the main input or any previous slot. Create complex effect chains with ease.
  • 23 Studio Effects: From classic modulation to lush reverbs, tape delays to spectral processing, plus the new Stutterus tempo-synced glitch repeater. Everything you need in one plugin.
  • 938 Factory presets: Save and recall your favorite configurations.
  • Low CPU Usage: Optimized DSP code means you can run multiple instances without bogging down your session.
  • Try All 23 Effects Free: Demo mode gives you full access to every effect — including all 16 Pro effects — so you can explore everything before you buy. A gentle periodic fade is the only reminder.
  • Slot Lock, Drag & Drop, Copy & Paste: Lock any slot to preserve its settings while browsing presets. Drag slots to reorder them, or right-click to copy and paste an effect configuration between slots.

Formats:

  • Windows (VST3 / CLAP)

  • macOS (AU / VST3 / CLAP)

  • Linux (VST3 / LV2 / CLAP)

New in 1.3.1

Click-free reverbs, slot selection, in-app help, and a metering overhaul

Spectrus 1.3.1 is a quality-and-polish release. The headline: all 10 reverbs are now click-free when you sweep knobs or re-roll the tail with Randomize/Morph. New slot selection lets you send a single-effect preset to one slot. An in-app Quick Start overlay explains the workflow, and the signal-flow strip and Master VU got a metering overhaul. Plus, a new Knee control and gain-reduction meters on the Ducker, a modulation waveform selector on Plate Reverb, and exact copy-and-paste reverb seeds.

Quick Tip: Building a multi-effect chain across the 4 slots.

Load a preset -- it drops into Slot 1. Click the lock icon (the slot border turns orange), then load another preset and it fills Slot 2. Repeat to stack up to 4 effects.

Load into one slot -- click a slot's box in the flow strip to select it (it gets a colored border); the next preset you browse or step to loads into that slot only.

Random Mix (the shuffle / crossed-arrows button) randomizes every unlocked slot at once -- so lock the parts you like and keep shuffling the rest.

Drag the dashed strip under the effect animation to reorder slots, or right-click it to copy/paste an effect into another slot.

I'm giving this 4 out of 5.
The FX possibilities are very strong. With 24 effects available and flexible dry/wet mixing options, there's a lot of creative potential to explore. I'm holding back one star as there are still a few areas that could benefit from some additional polish, such as minor window resizing quirks and certain aspects of FX usability and overall user experience.

That said, I believe Spectrus is absolutely worth every cent and is on a very promising path. The combination of reverbs, echo, and delay is outstanding and can easily stand alongside other high-quality reverb plugins. The textures created with the stutter and granular effects are especially unique.

I really appreciate this tool and am glad to see such a great addition to the Linux community. I'm using Spectrus on a Debian-based system.
