Linux : deleting files in ~/.Bitwig/index ?

Hello,

Files in mentioned directory are almost taking 2GB of disk space. Some are from 4 years ago. Are these created on a per-session need basis ? Is ti possible to delete all files in that directory ? Meaning even previous projects will recreate them if needed ?
