If it's been a long time since you've looked at crusher-X, I would highly recommend checking out version 11. It's much easier to use, even more powerful, and includes an instrument mode as well. It's fantastic as granular goes.DrGonzo wrote: Mon Mar 07, 2022 3:09 pmThat ancient granular plugin with the lobster on it. Damn... what was its name? I haven't used it in 20 years or so - but I remember back then it was the weirdest plugin I ever had used.
What is the most experimental/glitchiest effect plugin that you know of?

Polyverse Filterverse. It isn't a "glitch" machine per se. But it can be used like that fore sure.

Also, Rhizomatic Synestia. Created by Brian Clevinger (NI Absynth and Plasmonic). It utilizes physically modeled resonators.
"Unlike standard delays, Synestia uses "Sympathetic" resonators that can be tuned and even played via MIDI/MPE."
Seems interesting to try.

I second Tape Fiasco, not that there's plenty of mangling plugins out there. But the UI is, eh, inspiring in Tape Fiasco.

Something to be aware of is that these glitch effects easily create nasty transients and odd harmonics unpleasant to the ear so you need to post-process sometimes quite a lot.

I had a plugin that was so experimental it was still in alpha, and it was so glitchy it forced a hard reboot every time it was loaded.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

If you use Ableton Live, you can also check Puremagnetik's Ableton Effect Racks. You can pick them for next to nothing during sales or on KnobCloud (for 10$ it's quite a deal).
