Been looking at picking up Twin 3. I already have a ton of soft synths. Does it bring anything unique to the table?vitocorleone123 wrote: Mon Apr 27, 2026 11:57 pm I've weeded out a lot of software synths and am down to a dozen or so - not worth putting into categories like that, in my mind.

“shitload”, yeah ? When talking about cooking… OK, cowboy!kritikon wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 2:39 pm And yes, wine very definitely does go well with spices. I drink it all the time with a shitload of spices and quite enjoy it, reds, roses and whites

I'm currently reducing and the number of plugins I use, it almost feels like sometimes that making lists of x vs y is semantics, and maybe its more about how well you are able to use the tools you have.

In that case, I win. I have the least soft synths, so I must know how to use them the best...
...strangely I still make shit music a lot of the time. But it's technically perfect shit music

I pretty much do everything in:
Serum 2
Nexus 5
Diva
Serum 2 greatly reduced my use of Current and Phaseplant, while Nexus 5 greatly reduced my use of Kontakt and Omnisphere. Those are all great in their own way as well, but I'm far more productive using a reduced set of tools.

That is how i do it these days. I have my usual suspects i use lot (Falcon, pigments, Zebra3 now, diva, Phaseplant, omnisphere) and the rest is just on rotation.ksandvik wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 6:39 pm You could just rotate between a few synths for each project. For example, for a 10-track album I'm finishing composing I'm just using U-HE Hive 2 and Zebra 3.
