Hive 2 is super cool synth! I wish new analog style filters, more complex effects, warp modes for wavetable, multi segment envelope, maybe more unison options like Dune3 or Ableton wavetable. And a sampler with granular. It's a standard these days. Would be cool to have it in Hive 3

Nothing particularly special, just thought about instant playbacking \ generate ability in Bazille (like thru built in sequencer, or optional mode for oscillators, or driven amp envelope by wire inputs, from the same builtin seq etc), consider his modular nature, would be interesting.
Upd
The same about instant self oscillation for filters.

I'm a broken record now on this, and don't expect any of it but since the topic is here and Z3 is now my all time fave SOUND-wise but I'm still having to use Z2 for live performance or single-take improvisation because these aren't there. No need to respond, just registering it for the last time and I'll then try to shut up and accept it all:
(all are Zebra 3):
Macros using something like the XY structure in Z2 (multiple params per, independent range definition, doesn't require using up mod slots or performance CTRL A-D). No need for an XY mouse interface though, never used that, just mapped to faders.
(Maybe it could be hidden to avoid that sense that people selling preset packs should have to map these? Despite my love of these macros I never understood why anyone expected presets to include XY maps, they seem so... personal to the performer.)
Way more Z3 direct mod options. And on that note....
Direct mod or at least non-matrix velocity bipolar control setting for the four main envelope stages.
I will now zip my trap shut on these and do my best to enjoy Z3 for what it is (and it is amazing).

I would like a $30 backgrade to zebra 2 just for access to presets and to mess around with it.

- Wavetable support for one of the two ACE oscillators
- Dirty Cascade/OTA filter for Hive and Repro
- TX81Z waveforms for Bazille (and maybe preconfigured algorithms without patch cables)
- FM and RM for Hive

I have just ordered the Osmose CE MIDI controller keyboard. It ships with a plugin called ctrl-e, which is a host for several synth engines where you can play some presets that use the controller's capabilities as an MPE-controller. You can tweak a limited set of parameters for the presets if you don't own the actual synth. If you own it, you can tweak all parameters. As I haven't got the controller yet, and I don't fully know how this works, I am curious if this is something U-He could benefit from, showing it's capabilities to new users. It also looks convenient for owners of the U-He synths (I have them all).

Funnily, I just for the first time saw the Osmose CE in an ad. I remember vaguely that they asked us about it, but we were so busy with Zebra 3 that we hadn't even had time to think about it.

Is it something you will consider when things are a bit calmer?

I kind of don't think things will ever be calmer.johanhov wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 7:20 pm Is it something you will consider when things are a bit calmer?
But, yeah, we would have to think about it. We're usually not very enthusiastic about putting in a lot of work for uncertain returns. What if the free version is so good, people don't need the paid version anymore? What of we can't stop ourselves and our ambition gets the better of us and then a free choice is just good enough...? Questions, questions, decisions, decisions.
But then honestly, we have so much stuff ahead...

Looking at the Ctrl-E webpage I can see that different synth vendors offer different amounts of presets for their synth engine in Ctrl-E. Vital has 353 presets, and Dune 3 only 30. So it doesn't need to be a lot of presets that are given away. But it makes sense that there are other things that are more important / more urgent. Besides, I have no idea about how much work this would take...

I don't know either, which probably means Hofstadter's Law applies.johanhov wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 6:18 pm Looking at the Ctrl-E webpage I can see that different synth vendors offer different amounts of presets for their synth engine in Ctrl-E. Pipe dream: a rack in Hive where you can load UHM scripts that act as a chain of wavetable transformers (or just generator) with the final output cached as the used wavetable.

My dream is a visual uhm editor... a Stack of modifiers that represent a line of uhm each and e.g. visually make editable the envelope. Formulae would still be formulae though, but you'd see the result for each line visualised.tumface wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2026 10:45 pm Pipe dream: a rack in Hive where you can load UHM scripts that act as a chain of wavetable transformers (or just generator) with the final output cached as the used wavetable.
