Where did layered editing go in Bitwig 6.0.5?

I'm trying to use layered editing in the detail editor panel. According to the manual, and several tutorial videos, there should be vertical buttons reading "Track" and "Clip". I don't see them. I do see "Track" and "Clip" just above the piano keyboard. I select "Track". According to the manual and tutorials, there should be a layer editing icon at the bottom. I don't see that either. What is the correct procedure to enter layered editing in Bitwig 6.0.5?

Manual is good for 5.3 version.
As you noticed clip / track info is moved to top of the edit view.
For layered view, select multiple clips then this icon will appear. You can select midi and audio, then different options will be available.
For audio overlay, long click the wave shape icon and select the tack.

Thank you. I see it now.
Is this new behavior documented somewhere? Or are there any tutorials for the new behavior? I'd hate to have to ask every step of the way.
I can now see the layered editing icon. In the manual and tutorials, every track in the layered editor has a pen button, a pin button, and a lock button. I don't see any of those in Bitwig 6.0.5. Where have they gone? Or at least how do I do what they used to do? Also, in the tutorials, it seems that you stay in layered editing mode until you click the layered editing icon to turn it off. In Bitwig 6.0.5, layered editing turns off as soon as I select another track. How do I get layered editing to stick?
Basically this is the workflow I'm trying to get to. How do I do this in Bitwig 6?

It's gone. You must first select things in the Arrangement view and then you can edit them in the Detail editor (piano roll.) Being able to edit whatever you want from the Track mode in the Detail editor, without switching back and forth to the Arrangement view to interact with it, is no longer available.
Starting with Bitwig 6 beta 1, me and several other users (who I talked to on IRC, Discord, forums etc.) left extensive feedback with Bitwig, including screenshots, videos, long write-ups, and answered their questions. After many months and at the end of the beta, Bitwig let us know that the select-in-arrange method is all that will remain in Bitwig 6 going forwards, and the full Detail editor, or an equivalent or replacement feature, will not be returning. This, plus the automatic zooming of the piano roll when changing selections which can't be turned off (which you can see I also posted a reply about in a different thread a couple of hours ago here) caused me, several of those other people I mentioned, to stop using Bitwig.

while i would like this feature to be completely back in - makes no sense why they wouldn't want it unless it hurt the software somehow. maybe to have a cleaner track list?
I would like them to finish the job on what they are trying to do. imo edit only selected layer should be the default (if you use ableton this is the focus setting in their midi comping) but it should for sure have a keyboard shortcut - as well as a shortcut for hide other layers when you want to get rid of everything in the background real quick - a keyboard shortcut to toggle this would be amazing.
while mattias has a good video that demonstrates the back button being used.. is anybody using this back button? you can modifier and go forward too.
why not delete the back button. give us a button that we can modifier click and have 2 functions - 1 midi comp list like it is now - based on whats selected and can be selected in the 2nd function which is 2. complete track list at least for midi tracks

Those are good questions. I have no explanation.
(You might be wondering why I have posted at all in this forum. It's because I knew I could give you a straight answer about this particular topic, and I saw it during a routine check to see if there are any useful updates on the horizon that people are talking about.)

Reason made this same decision at R13 (a couple of years ago) and while initially it is cool, over time and more than about 4 tracks (esp when the tracks wanted to over/under lay are spread discontinuously in the Arranger) it becomes far clunkier than the former method allowing one to Ctrl Click tracks in/out in the Piano Roll (which was full screen - not this half-half thing).
My opinion is that DAWs now are being driven by Adventure Papitalista Hipsters who don't really use them for more than a brief surface willy-rub so they assume that the whole audience is as incontinent as they are. Fine for the masses who dabble for a few months, death for those who seek to do Real Work (Seth Godin's term).
Silly coz they make an increasing case for abandoning their platform. And Reaper, much as I do not love its workflow at all, makes increasing sense for staying out of this game - bearing in mind they were a massive factor in the feature arms-race.

I could've sworn that the smallest beat grid division used to be 1/128, but now it seems to be 1/64... and I actually wanted a 1/128 grid today.
Or was it always 1/64?...
