So i checking out waveform 14 beta and it work well for me in Linux. This is not a 14 thing but something i find hard to understand in earler versions also. I mainly work in Reaper and have just tested waveform.
When i record something on one track and want to record over this or just punch in/out i have to remove or mute the earler recordings. Otherwise i can hear all the other recording i have done wile i try to record over it.
The way that would be best is like its in Reaper or Logic for instance. The latest recording is the one that i hear, even when i record over something else.
It has to be possible to do for waveform to work that way?

Settings -> Advanced -> Mute track contents whilst recording
The way Waveform tracks work in general is that if the clip isn't muted, it plays. You can layer clips on top of other clips.

I am not aware of any way to do that. Honestly, it's less organized than I would like. I like the flexibility but find selection a bother. There seems to be a hotkey to "move selected clips to back of z-order" (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Z) but I can't find a non-hotkey way to do it and can't find anything in any documentation.p4tt4nz wrote: Sat May 09, 2026 4:34 pm When you say "layer clips on top of other" is there a way to see them all like in a list view?

Tested this and that is not what i mean. If i have a track with a recording on it and i want to punch in/out for 2 seconds in this 5 minute track(recording). With this on i wont hear anything but my own guitar(for instance). The best solution would be to hear the first recording and my guitar until i come to the punch in and then i only hear my guitar as i record the new stuff.
I then hear ALL the recordings over each other and i have to mute all but the latest my self.
