Thanks morphex, please let me know how you like it.morphex wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 10:27 pmYou said that there would eventually be a release for macOS, and you've absolutely delivered. Thank you for supporting older operating systems, and for all of the updates that you've been releasing on a steady basis.Morphulus wrote: Fri May 08, 2026 10:07 pm [UPDATE #7] Spectrus 1.2.0 - Stutterus glitch repeater, Mix Lock, preset overhaul
Spectrus 1.2.0 is out. A 23rd effect, a lock-control workflow, and a full preset system rebuild. Free update for everyone - Free, Demo, and Pro users.

You get bonus points for having such a user-friendly licensing system, and an extensive user manual on your website. You've obviously put a lot of work into developing and supporting Spectrus. And now that Mac is supported, I'm in.![]()

Thank you pekbro for the Mix Lock request, it's a great idea, especially with the random features. I use it all the time now!

I need to say that your Plugin looks very nice on my Linux in my DAW, these little graphics are beautiful and not cpu intensive, the reverb collection is outstanding for sure and sounds very good.
my attention got the stutter effect, as on linux i need multi effects and sound mangling tools as much as possible like from the sugarbytes company Effectrix, Turnado and Looperator Stuff. Because i can't find a roadmap i dont know if my wishes will come true, so that i can buy you piece of art.
so, what is in the future?

Hey NWSM, thanks so much for the kind words and really glad to hear Spectrus is doing well on your Linux rig. The reverbs are where I've poured in a lot of love, so it means a lot that they're useful for you.NWSM wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 9:12 am I need to say that your Plugin looks very nice on my Linux in my DAW, these little graphics are beautiful and not cpu intensive, the reverb collection is outstanding for sure and sounds very good.

You're right that there's no public roadmap on the website, and that's intentional rather than an oversight. I don’t want to break promises when priorities shift, so plans are kept internal, mostly, until they're close to ready. Here's roughly what’s on my plate right now:
An algorithmic MIDI generator I've been building for years, and this is the project furthest along that’s not yet ready, aiming to finish this year.
A synth, which is in early development.
Continued work on Spectrus itself. I treat it as a living plugin.
The next Spectrus update already has a few things waiting in the wings: a new UI Scale option (75% to 200%, on top of the existing dynamic resize), and another Saturator overhaul where the Shape knob now does something meaningful in every mode (soft-clip knee, cubic odd-harmonic series, arctangent frequency tilt, and an asymmetric even-harmonic blend), with an updated visualization to match. There's at least one new effect landing in that release too.
After that, the mangling territory you mentioned is very much on my radar. Some candidates I've been thinking on:
Wavefolder: a different distortion family from the clipping flavors in Saturator.
Frequency Shifter: the iconic "metallic, alien" sound that ring mod can't make.
Auto-Filter: synth-style resonant LP/HP/BP filter with envelope/LFO modulation.
Vocoder / Formant Filter: vowel-shaped filtering.
Lo-Fi Unit: a dedicated character module with wow, flutter, hiss, vinyl crackle, dropouts, mechanical age.
None of those are locked in yet, which is why I want to ask: of those five, is there one you’d like to see in Spectrus? Or is there a different mangler from the Effectrix/Turnado/Looperator world that you'd rather see in a Spectrus slot? Customer wishlists really do shape what I build next, so any specifics you can share would be great.
Thanks for the support, looking forward to hearing what's at the top of your list.

Nice to hear and thank you for reply. i see there is a lot going on i really like.
Curious about the synth
Just Brainstorming
I know Spectrus is more a FX Chain than a Sequencer, for the actual State of the Plugin
the Multi Band Idea would be fit the most. Additional to some FX-Modules i mentioned below.
As i think on Multi FX mangling and breakcore/ glitches in my heads i would like infiltrator on Linux LOL*:
- per Band FX (stolen from HY MBMFX3) would fit to FX Chain Status of Spectrus the most
- FX triggering in a sequence (per step ramping / \) optional as send effect per step (useful for verb or delay) - Send FX will release the FX sound whereas Steps Cut the FX
- multiple output - means per FX Slot for post fx editing (BUS)
Sequencing:
You could have a kinda sequencer in this plugin (or an step modulator in every fx) as mentioned by pekbo (if i understand this right), where FX can dialed in as a number (for a global sequencer style),
To trigger these fx as playing the sequence. Every step could have like a ramp shape to control how the step is triggered.
If ramp-up the fx mix could slowly come into the audio signal depending on the play speed of the sequence.
This could be nice on every fx that is addressed to the step
Modules (mostly adressed to the sequencing and firing up short burst of FX) but also as an addition to Spectrus in general:
- About Stutter, i would like to have more control when stutter or pitch/ reverse happens,
- Fake Accord FX (a single sound morphing into a minor chord for example) kinda unison/ detune stuff
- Pitch Stuff related to this (semi or octatve pitch)
- Stretch in 2 ways (shorter, longer) related to stutter fx where a buffered sound is used
- Sample Player (fades, reverse, filter) to trigger like noises or other samples to a rhythm (kinda shaperbox or)
- Filter Stuff

Would be good to have some multi fx patches - they all seem just to be for individual fx

Thanks pekbro, excellent suggestion, and given Mix Lock's outcome, this is going on the list today.
Right-click any knob -> "Sequence Parameter", probably pre-populate a sequencer lane with the chosen params. It's in the fast lane. Cheers!

Most of what you described is one idea: a sequencer-driven multi-effect.
Now I need to unify them. You read pekbro right. Yours fits the same engine from another angle. His sequences param values, yours sequences slot activity. If I misread anything, please let me know.
Multiband is the one separate thing on your list that I'll have to consider.
The smaller items (filter, pitch, harmonizer, time stretch, sample player) mostly fall into the already-on-the-radar category.
For Stutterus, once there's a sequencer, it would allow more fine-tuned control, but I'll look at adding more Stutterus control in the meantime.
One ask: of everything you listed, which would you use most often? That helps me prioritize.
Thanks again.

Thanks aMUSEd, multi-effect presets are planned. In the meantime, if you haven't seen it have a look at "Random Mix": https://morphulus.com/manual#presets it will populate all 4 slots with presets from the preset pool, unless you lock one or more of the slots.aMUSEd wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 9:18 pm Would be good to have some multi fx patches - they all seem just to be for individual fx

For me the reason for parameter sequencing is for animating parameters precisely, over time.Morphulus wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 11:09 pmThanks pekbro, excellent suggestion, and given Mix Lock's outcome, this is going on the list today.

The only things I think you need to try and work out are chains, so 1 sequence can trigger another at it's end, to allow for arbitrarily long sequences. They should be able to sync to the DAW and allow ea lane to run at different speeds, typically this is done by multiplication and division of the main clock per lane. Random generation here would also be very nice.
This could be built in somehow or added as a step modulator even.
This would be an exciting addition in any event.

Sounds good. Sequence chaining, added to the plan, will work through the design and adding NWSM’s slot actions into it as well.
Cheers!
