When I want to re-record a section of a song and I select the punch in button it puts the cursor a beat or so before the start of the in marker ready to record until the out marker.
It would be nice to be able to hear what is on the other tracks so I play along as in normal recording. Is there a reason that punch in recording has the other tracks muted.
Did that make sense?
The reason I ask is because lets say I have a good solo but just want to change a bit of it it would be nice to get a feel of the tune and the timing before I actually jump in and play.

I found this when recording MIDI. What I do is set up a new track below, exactly the same as the one I've already recorded ( levels, plugs etc ) and put a marker at the point where I want to drop new stuff in with a 1 or 2 bar count-in. Then, when you hit record on the new track you'll get to hear a couple of bars of the track you're trying to punch into to get the feel. Once you're done, trim the new clip to the right length and drag it back up to the right place on your original track ( with snap off )
Coffee please, black, no sugar.
