I have OPZilla and all the other windows vst's I like in my Offline Linux Setup and many backups of that system so I can Install and go back to a working state in 5 minutes with everything ready to use when i get a new PC or if i should need to replace the drive if i need a new one

You can do the same on windows but a change in Hardware might trigger Plugins that uses C/R Protection there vs a self contained Wine Folder in Linux that has the same Computer ID no matter how much you change Your system as long as it stays on the same distro and wine version you installed it on.

So i use Linux as a preservation platform incase SHTF but i guess i will have bigger things to worry about if that happens.

Imho creator of crystal is in the omnisphere team, so maybe he rather develop such commercial stuff....

Just an observation: if you posted this 6-12 months ago, I'm sure a lot of people would have put Absynth on this list.

Dude from Tweakbench surfaced 20 years later too and updated his old plugins.

Sometimes, strange things happen at the Circle K.

Plugins that aren’t going to be updated again
