What does this have to do with running?? It's so annoying when you guys drift off topic.jjpscott01 wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 3:01 pm Reason. I'll always come back to Reason. And version 14 is so good
If you had to stick to one DAW, which one would it be?

I was beta testing Reason 14 and I knew that I would end up getting it. I'm not changing from Bitwig just yet, but been exclusively using Reason ever since... It's nice. It's like using multiple RRP's inside of Reason.

I can't choose between Studio One, Reason and Bitwig. Today, Reason, but tomorrow it could be Studio One, or Bitwig.

For me it's Nuendo, Reason, and Bitwig in that order. But if I had to choose just one, it's Nuendo all the way.starflakeprj wrote: Fri May 15, 2026 11:12 pm I can't choose between Studio One, Reason and Bitwig. Today, Reason, but tomorrow it could be Studio One, or Bitwig.

Interesting, don't hear many people using Nuendo nowadays. I guess the gap between Nuendo and Cubase is smaller today than it was 10 years ago?summer2000 wrote: Sat May 16, 2026 1:43 amFor me it's Nuendo, Reason, and Bitwig in that order. It's hard to conceive not using Hotkeys. I primarily use them to (obviously start and stop) duplicate midi items, duplicate tracks, minimize/maximize track size, quickly reduce/increase volume on a track (rarely though unless I am in the middle of doing something and don't want to use the volume knob), glue a midi item within the loop points, open/close the mixer, open/close the media explorer, loop regions...I think this is what you guys are talking about right? Do you do most of this with the mouse? Or do you mean by Hotkeys not so basic stuff that requires other mouse operations...

Hotkeys can be anything basic or more involved. The main point is Hotkeys are quicker because with a mouse youi're mainly navigating from one point of the UI to the next. With buttons/keys it's more immediate.
One could argue you're still navigating with Hotkeys because your fingers have to move from one point to the next but that's petty. Add to this with DAWs like Reaper you can assign macros where one push accomplishes what would take multiple navigations with a mouse.

Yeah, just took a bunch of actions that have buttons and accidentally Added the Hotkey 'Backspace' to them. The Buttons were- Select all Midi Items, Set Loop points to Items, Loop and play selected Items. I decided to just keep it. That's probably the most sophisticated Custom Action I have.VOODOO U wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 4:38 pm Hotkeys can be anything basic or more involved. This is one area Reaper could use improvement if one prefers using a mouse. Allow the option where regions can be looped without having the need to use the loop marker. So add a region and it has a loop icon on one corner of the region bar if one wants to loop that section.twal wrote: Sun May 17, 2026 4:56 pm Select all Midi Items, Set Loop points to Items, Loop and play selected Items.

UAD Luna. It feels more creative when recording. There's hardly any menu diving and settings to change all the time. My projects seem to flow so much better when using it. No distractions!

Logic for the simple reason that I am most familiar with it.

Nope, to the contrary, the gap is (logically) getting bigger with each (major) version.starflakeprj wrote: Sat May 16, 2026 2:09 amInteresting, don't hear many people using Nuendo nowadays. (Since with each new version additional Nuendo-only features get added.)
