Both are possible, you can load large libraries into it, then save the analysis as "Default" and you're good to go;
DnD is exactly one of the features - you can drag samples in/out from it, and also drag samples into a "pool" of samples, reorder them and drag them out from the VST. I frequently use it to organize samples on drives this way, for instance.

Hey aMUSED, check out the website. He has a nice, interactive-ish user manual explaining the workflow.

Use Case 1: Sample Librarian
The middle of the plugin area is your 3D map of samples, represented by color-coded dots. To the right is a collapsible window that lists your sample library. Drag and drop your sample folders into the center of the plugin to create your library. You can either drag and drop individual folders, one-by-one (if that is how you want your library list to look, or you can drop big parent folders, and it will automatically create the nested subfolders to mirror how you have it on your hard drive. If you want to restrict the samples shown in the work area to specific sample collections in your library, you can Solo or Mute folders to do that. You can also show only loops or only one-shots of your entire library with Solo or Mute buttons for Loops and One-Shots. Use your mouse to hover over the dots to audition samples. Drag and drop the samples from the work area into your DAW, or drag them to the Pool (on the right hand side) to create a collection, which you can drag to your DAW all together.

Use Case 2: Performance
You load Mini as an Instrument in your DAW. I haven’t tried this yet, but you can use your mouse to gesture over samples in the work area, and record the motion in the plugin by hitting R to start and stop. This creates a gesture line that is mapped to CC1, which means you can scrub through the line with your Mod Wheel, and then record that in your DAW. Or, you can simply create an automation in your DAW for CC1. You can also automate the X-axis cursor, the Y-axis cursor, the Attack time, the Release time, Pitch, Pan, and the Velocity in your DAW.

@AudioMap do you have a Discord? Or do you want to keep bug reports/feature suggestions here?

Thanks for this detailed description. Indeed, the original idea has been tied to the performance aspect (one of the first shortcuts added to the plugin was Ctrl+Drag to create a MIDI line) and has evolved from there.

I do - depends on the preference, though I mostly communicate with users via email.

It seems that the folders I load are not persistent. Is that a bug?

Can you send me or post the invite?

No, default persistence is now on instance level, click the Menu (next to folder icon) and choose "Save as Default" to make the changes global. For smaller folder structures, default persistence makes sense, but it gets quite messy once you use Mini on multiple tracks with different settings/groupings/soloing. From UX perspective, this seems like the best compromise I could think of such that it could be used to host large sample libraries as well as to simply use it for experiments, plus it was getting complex handling all the edge cases with a hybrid system. I am, of course, open to suggestions.

I created a new discord server I attached an invite to my signature :tu:

I notice that the instance re execute's the analysis every time. Is this feasible for large amounts of samples say 1 million etc? How long would the analysis take each time for 1 million plus samples?

Change pushed, plugin now loads with analyzed samples instantly. You can download the file from the same download link.

Is a standalone version possible at some point? I prefer to have my sample manager open separately from my DAW.

I purchased this for the 2d view of samples - really good!!! Well done!

When I add a 1 folder, the folder view is fine. If I add another folder it does not display the new folder as a root folder. Instead it shows a mess of all the lower level folders.

Please comment here on this and fix this - thanks.

A minor version 1.3.2 has just been released, which reverts back changes regarding default folder behaviour - now analyzed folders are added on device-level and more edge cases and visual details have been taken care of.

This is certainly on the roadmap and has been requested multiple times at this point.

Thank you!
I am not quite sure what you mean, but I would recommend downloading the newest version from your purchase email again which addresses folder structures.

it still works with one shots only, right? I wish I could just throw a whole field recording or a weird noise jam into it and let it splice and organize

coalescence can do that, but this interface looks nicer to me

I use Beatforge for things like that. Coalescence looks cool, does have have any plans to make a plugin version?
