I tend to use atlas for it's hi-performance and random kit generation, tho I occasionally use the Rnd Pat generation as well. I tend to like light-weight stuff without onboard effects, where I like to use plugin for that.
A couple other examples, Inphonik Rx1200
https://www.inphonik.com/
Force56 Pulse16
https://www.force56audio.com/en/products/pulse16.php
both of which sound really great imo.
I also like Motto Akemie from ALM
https://busycircuits.com/products/alm-pg002
ans SmackboxV2
https://dropshotaudio.com/
Not to mention, almost all of the above, except I don't really like XLN and own nothing of theirs. I have to say I don't have a top 3, it's more like top 30.
What are your top 3 Drum/Perc. VSTs for Beat Creation ?

For real drums Addictive Drums. D16 Group plugins (Drumazon, Nepheton) for classic 808/909 sounds. But I also like to come back to LinPlug CM-505 or SonicXTC Drum Boxx Synth.

Nice! I didn't know on most of them (except the Inphonik one which I own and like). The Pulse16 looks cool but less interesting for me, but the Motto Akemie looks fantastic. Thanks for the heads-up!pekbro wrote: Sun May 24, 2026 7:51 pm I tend to use atlas for it's hi-performance and random kit generation, tho I occasionally use the Rnd Pat generation as well. The ALM stuff is all very good imo, sadly you cannot demo them, they are pretty reasonable $. The MumM8 filter is a must as well.PTV wrote: Sun May 24, 2026 10:34 pmNice! *The actual Drum Synth part of Motto Akemie is pretty minimalist, but it's cool and the parameter sequencing is very good.
