They can also output MIDI for use in other synths, Arturia made a killer feature there. That was my main use of Pigments, actually

It's a really nice arp and seq.
Falcon also outputs midi and has super sequencers

Cannot agree on this one...

I love falcon, but a smooth UI flow is not one of its strengths.

i am filter addict and these retro filters are such a temptation mmm :)
Two engines, each with 3 osc, like the concept and this synth grow as options and sound...
The only hesitation i have is p6 or serum2...

With the summer sales and some discount, I have the opportunity to buy Arturia Pigment 6 at $80 .... I know it's packing a lot of features ( few synth engines ) and some interesting gui but I'm also reading that the granular engine is "meh" ...

If I read their marketing BS, I wonder why I didnt sell a kidney yet to buy a copy of Pigment ... :hihi:

I'm also considering the granular engine of Minimal Audio Current which seems to be way better ...

When you already own U-He Ace & Zebra 2 , Tone2 Icarus, Kilohearts Phase-Plant, the Korg collection, the Arturia V Collection ... do you really need it ?

So my question is simply : will Pigment 6 be able to create sounds that "only" Pigment 6 can create ?

If not, then I'll skip it.

thanks all for your opinions, help and peace !
:D
From your list, you should be covered for many needs. You don't "need" P6. Creativity is usually more than meeting minimal needs though.

I own Pigments 6 but never use it. To my ears, there is a "graininess"? to some of Pigments' waveforms that irritates me, similar to Hive vs. the cleanliness of Serum or Diva and the recent Korg softsynths.

At the fantastic price you can obtain P6, why not purchase it? It might have some patches that inspire you to write a song or make a sound set or...

Pigments doesn't have the type of OTA filter I want. I hope they add a proper bubbly OTA filter in Pigments 8. I may get it for just the additive and granular engines, and I'll sell or trade Chromaphone 3 for it.

Wish they would put the Rev 2 filter from their MS20 plugin in it

Sort of? I mean every synth has its own character that you either like or don't. Pigments is like a big goodie-bag of stuff that you can mess around with in a somewhat modular order. The granular engine is spectacular, the effects and the effect routing is top-notch, the included sample library while a bit small has a great scope from traditional to the experimental. Not a big fan of the VA synth engine though.

When it goes on sale, I wouldn't hesitate a second to get it.

Pigments has a generative sequencer, that alone is worth the price of admission for me.

Pigments is worth it just as a granular synth with mpe. But happens to have a lot of pretty good classic and new style filters.

Its the first synth I go to for sound design even if I wish it had some more features like 3 or 4 main osc instead of just 2. I find the workflow quite efficient. I needed a particular soft fm piano sound the other day. I have DX7 and Opsix but dialled in what I needed in about 5 minutes in Pigments. Sits well in my mixes too.

I realized that the Matrix filter can self-oscillate and bubble if the oscillator input isn’t 100%
