Unfourtunantley a rack would seem to be pointless unless you use it on multipule tracks...

unless you're using it for modular routing, but if I want that I have eXT. Personally, I really don't use racks that much...

you aren't using them right. ;)

just to clarify... it only adds a delay for multiple instances of the same rack.. which would typically be applied when using them as sends or for wrapped multiple-out instruments (where you don't want to place the effects on individual channels within the rack itself). It only adds a delay equal to your current latency... and it's all compensated for anyway to make it unnoticeable (unless you are playing a multiout instrument live I s'pose).

I still find the racks useful... because sometimes I want access to automation parameters that I would otherwise have to map to cc in eXT. For less esoteric stuff, the racks are pretty schweet. If you want to build something pretty crazy, eXT can put you in the nutter camp.

thanks 4 the info lads just to check :?: plz :D

if i have say kontakt wraped for multipule outs eg; 5 instences of the wraped kontakt going to different traks set to diff outs.
any tiny delay that has been caused will be fixed during play back by T (im shite live :D ) :?:

yeah... multiple instances of the same rack are compensated for just like a plugin using pdc, thus you shouldn't notice anything odd. :D

I first noticed the problem while using a multi out VST wrapped in a Rack. I don't remember the particulars but when I rendered the song there were noticable timing errors that could easily be seen when I lined the rendered track up with the midi treck. The peaks caused by the drum hits were off.
I think I still have the example that I emailed to jules to show him the problem. I'll look for it later. I can't do it now as I am just taking a break from work.

You won't notice the problem if you work at very low latencies, but it will still be affecting the sound adversly, especially if you use a lot of sends.
