In the manual they spell the word "through" repeatedly as "thru", and no they are not talking about "midi thru".

Oh, I know.

Does anyone else experience audio artifacts in Convolution when switching impulses on the fly?
It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes an unpleasant feedback-like sound plays when switching impulses in the pop-up window.
This issue appeared in version 6.0 and persists in version 6.0.6.

It is pretty shocking really!

I switched back to Ableton for these reasons:

No controller support from Bitwig after many times sending bug reports for various controllers.
Crazy high memory usage compared to Ableton, after a while Bitwig becomes unresponsive. No such behaviour in Ableton.
Crazy high drum note lanes when only two lanes used.
Graphic glitches in Sampler when enlarged waveform editor.
When i minimize Bitwigs screen there is a memory leak, memory usage climbs until my windows pc crashes.

I still love Bitwig as a DAW i have tried to work with lots of times, however my license is only Valid until 6.0, so i dont expect that all issues i named will be solved soon. I am not going to spent more money on Bitwig for the moment.
Maybe at a later stage when Bitwig 6 is more stabilized i will try another attempt.

For the moment Ableton is rock solid for me, i can trust it in live situations.

Thanks for the info guys. :tu:

These are some pretty serious issues, and as a software development company they should be all hands on deck putting those fires out... That most definitely locks me in to re-evaluate bitwig at 7.1.x. Hopefully they got their act together by then.

I'm on latest version of 5, it's mostly bug free (audio clips can play at random times when playing and pausing and seeking a often in projects with lots of large audio clips, and that 14.5 billion year plugin and sample folder scan it does on every startup is very annoying, but it's stable for now... A lot of major windows 11 updates have come and gone and even more to come, I've noticed a few more crashes on v5 than usual, but I doubt they will release any patches/fixes for v5 anymore...

RE: Ableton
I have it, just wish I got on with it... I gave Tracktion Waveform 14 Public Beta a look but they still at the stage of working out font size uniformity, and what direction they are taking their ui/ux, so maybe in v24... StudioOne had a fender bender and has a major version upgrade if they fix typo, so I'm staying away from them also. I might try reaper again if bitwig v7.1.x is still full of issues, even though it's like using Windows server 2000 just with even more retina burning lists and option menu's inceptioned inside menus inside menus... Second thought, no I won't be trying reaper again lol, might force myself into Ableton if 7.1.x is still full of issues....

Yeah 5 is stable however with some quirks. I have too many projects saved under 6, no lust to go back to version 5.

Maybe Cubase could be an alternative? I am also playing around with Tracktion Waveform as alternativ.

I gave cubase Pro a few tries now, 3 or 4 times now, I really didn't get on with it, I just can't believe how backward they are in ui/ux in some (most) things and then awesome at other things, and some parts treat you like a visually impaired person and others like a programmer lol. And that floating menu bar or something drove me up the wall and the settings menus... It just screams at you, made by a mac OSX lover who likes reaper more lol. Verry little innovation over all these years, their attempt at modulation reminds me of that youtube video of that woman freaking out about putting the wrong shape in the wrong hole... And a navigation system which Studio One copied and did better lol... Sold it on within a month each time I gave it another go. Ooo went into bit of a rant there :dog:

Cubase to me :D
