It's a paid endorsement, nothing to do with being desperate.stoopicus wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:17 am Does anyone really think Mothersbaugh is desperate for money from Arturia?

So Mothersbaugh with music royalties in the tens of millions each year is poor and needs money doing endorsements?

Citation needed for his accounts, but nobody said he 'needed' the money.

Not sure about tens, but he earns over a million a year from one theme song alone.Seafire Mk2 wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:59 am Citation needed for his accounts, but nobody said he 'needed' the money.

Only poor musicians do endorsements?ksandvik wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:56 am So Mothersbaugh with music royalties in the tens of millions each year is poor and needs money doing endorsements?.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

If he's that hard up, he'll be writing music for commercials next.

I dont think Devo ever commented on commercialisation or capitalism, did they?stoopicus wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 9:14 am Are you guys trying to say that is not how he really feels and he is actually lying about his preference and workflow? Got any proof of that?

I've said this a million times and I'll say it another million times. NONE of you guys could tell what synth, hardware, software or otherwise, was in a song buried in the mix. Now, if you want to talk about the feel of playing an instrument where you turn knobs and slide sliders as opposed to moving a mouse, fine. I get that there might be a certain thrill of getting your hands on a Minimoog. But sound wise? You couldn't tell the difference between a hardware Minimoog and The Legend buried in the mix of a song.
So you need to get over yourselves that hardware sounds better than software.
It doesn't.

I dont know, the other day I receive a juno 106 wih a typical voice coating issue (the cover being conductive at some point), it tends to make some drone sounding stuff without key pressed with spikes of voltage to spice things up.
Completely broken, and impossible to achieve with software

Jordan Rudess used to endorse nearly everything. I don’t think he’s hurting for money.Seafire Mk2 wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:29 amIt's a paid endorsement, nothing to do with being desperate.stoopicus wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:17 am Does anyone really think Mothersbaugh is desperate for money from Arturia?
