Edit: Same on Tape Fiasco 1
Curious, is it regular stutter or "Bend It" stutter? Switching between sync/free is most likely the abruption of capture change which needs fine tuned smoothing. Will look into it Thanks!

Dices dropping tomorrow! Both global and per effect. Its wild, in a good way!

In terms of the FX in Tape Fiasco, how much overlap will there be with what comes with Modular Fiasco?
Until forever fades away.

Modular Fiasco contains more FX and are way more heavy in terms of functionality and parameters. The strength of Modular Fiasco is the accessibility and creativity, many of them can receive trigger/gates, midi information from multiple sources, and many also have multiple audio inputs for different effect purposes. Not to mention the modulation possibilites...

They share some DNA, tape fiasco 1 and 2 can easily be created in a patch inside Modular Fiasco and it would be the exact same thing. Tape Fiasco was actually prototyped inside Modular Fiasco. However if you're not into an overview-kind of workflow and appreciate the linear approach as a regular DAW, Tape Fiasco is probably way more comfortable.

Thanks for the info. I'd be more inclined to wait for Modular then. But, I might still grab Tape if the release of Modular ends up taking a while.

Normal stutter with the default Pianoteq preset playing a few notes. Two examples below:

https://voca.ro/14TPje5VhqeQ - mix reduced to 50%

I see you're using JUCE. Is there any chance of Linux support in the future?

Its been asked for, problem is I don't have access to a Linux machine and I don't feel comfortable selling something that haven't been tested. I guess what I could do is releasing it for free as a linux build until I know for sure its working.

Let me get back to you on that one.

It's stupid easy to make a linux machine. just saying.

btw: A speaker sim would be cool in this :tu:

Good! I have a lovely speaker sim on modular fiasco, might through that in!

Really lovely plugin, I’m having a lot of fun playing around with it. But it seems to be a bit buggy, or maybe it’s user error?

I opened the init preset, deactivated everything but Strech and fed it with a simple midi-synth note. Once I started messing around with Stretch settings (speed, tempo etc, but without the sequencer), I got vastly different results: e.g. short grain attack on bar 1, slow attack on bar 2, back to short attack on bar 3 without changing anything; different Grain behavior after changing a few things and reverting back etc., very unpredictable.

It’s like there’s some kind of modulation going on, but Animate seems to be completely deactivated. What am I missing?

Latest macOS (26.5.1), latest Live (12.4.2), VST3.

Hard to tell without knowing the stretch parameters, did you say you used the stretch sequencer? Your machine is well tested and I haven't stumbled on any issue like you're saying. Could you please either save it as a preset or screenshots of the TIME, FX, ANIMATE, PERFORM screen. You can find the user preset file in "~/Library/TapeFiasco2/Presets/ " and send to everyreasontopanic@gmail.com

It sounds like its the stretch sequencer with different step speed values. But I'll appriciate if you could send it so I can confirm if its user error or some strange bug. Thanks!

"Tape Fiasco 2 just got a wild update!

The most requested feature is here: dice buttons. One click randomizes all FX parameters, either globally (split between TIME and FX sections) or per individual effect. Each parameter's random range has been carefully calibrated for good results out of the box, but you can adjust the strength per parameter to dial in exactly the kind of chaos you're after, or lock any parameter out of the randomization entirely.

Existing users can find the update (version 517) on your LemonSqueezy order."

Awesome plugin so far, and the new randomizers are great, but I can't find randomizers for the sequencers, which is the best place to use them IMO. Am I just not seeing them, or do the sequencers not have randomizers yet?
