I don’t agree with everting Bones says but I have to agree here. These days the first thing I do is drop a new vst in a track and see if it sounds good in a mix. I tried the new Arturia Memory V and TBH I wast getting much more than my existing vsts once it was in a mix so I gave it a pass. My priority is finishing my album. Perhaps these developers (Arturia, Korg etc) should focus on delivering something new for the plug-in community instead of multiple versions of the same old synths. The old synths were legends, but these days they seem to be thrown around like cheap copies.BONES wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 2:36 am Yet still more than good enough for someone with a room full of the real things. Of course, he's focused on creating music, rather than being obsessed with the softsynths sounding exactly like the hardware, which is informed by the fact that the hardware never sounded the same two days in a row anyway. i.e. He has the proper perspective, he's not an anal-retentive knob-jockey.

This just might be the most perfect KVR thread ever, and something Devo would be proud of! I'm trying to think of a KVR trope that isn't covered here and I'm at a loss? I suppose no one's argued theory yet, that's about it.

Why are you quoting yourself?
Are you having some kind of a senior moment?
