Yeah I tried the update first, then since the plugin was stuck in my DAWs, I did a soft reboot of Win 10 and then tried the full version (with reset config parameter in installer this time), but sadly it gave the same result : infinite stuck scan while lauching the DAWs or the plugin (tested in FL Studio, Bitwig, Reaper, Renoise, Reason). This happens with VST2 and VST3 (btw, no CLAP version ? )
Didn't try the standalone though (not even sure I have it installed)

Do you have custom waveforms / samples / presets under Documents/SynthMaster folder? I am wondering if it is stuck while reading those.

Try starting out with a clean Documents/SynthMaster folder (try moving everything to somewhere else except SynthMasterLicenseKey.txt file)

Also, try to delete c:\users\public\public documents\synthmaster folder (the expansions are stored under Presets folder here)

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling etc. Still a no-go this morning. Will not load in standalone, freezes Nuendo. Windows 11. I feel like I was on .15 before moving to .17. No custom waveforms, all stock with the normal expansion packs. No custom made patches.

Edit- As a note Synthmaster 2 standalone shows up in Task Manager as a background app using CPU (14-17%) but not as an active app, and of course no GUI. I walked away for some prep chores for about 30 minutes. Still using CPU as a background process, still no GUI.

For those struggling with this update (missing GUI, freezing DAW, etc.), backing up and then removing the Documents\Synthmaster folder, sans the license, seems to do the trick. I restored my expansions (36 of 38 reinstalled).

Things appear to work.

So, in those cases a clean installation is the path to go:

For Windows:

1. Delete c:\users\public\public documents\synthmaster folder
2. Backup and delete my documents\snythmaster folder
3. Reinstall v2.9.17 full setup after downloading from: https://www.synthmaster.com/userarea.aspx

For MacOS:

1. Delete /users/shared/synthmaster folder
2. Backup and delete documents\snythmaster folder
3. Reinstall v2.9.17 full setup after downloading from: https://www.synthmaster.com/userarea.aspx

Try also deleting C:\Program Files\KV331 Audio\SynthMaster folder and then reinstall.

Sadly I still have my old bug that I had with the previous version, I made a screenshot :

Everytime I right click on the banks, a "clear browser filters" is appearing, and it seems I can't download my banks anymore.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since we last updated SM2 / SM2 Player. We are super excited to announce our final update for SM2 / SM2 Player: version 2.9.18

So, after this update we won't be making any further updates for those products any more, as our focus is now on SynthMaster 3.5 & then 4.0. We urge all existing SM2 / SM2 Player users to upgrade to SynthMaster 3 / SynthMaster 3 Player so that we can continue developing new products.

This update brings the following new features:

1. Added Undo for preset loads
2. Added Import/Export MIDI Mappings
3. Added fade in/fade out of master volume when loading presets
4. Added Task Dialog to show progress of expansion downloads
5. Added MIDI Learn for XYView control
6. License Key File Dialog is now displayed after plugin window is shown

There are also critical bug fixes in this update:

1. SynthMaster 2 VST3 doesn't process MIDI CC messages correctly
2. SynthMaster 2 might crash while changing skins
3. SynthMaster 2 might crash while exiting if skins were changed prior to exit
4. Preset browser doesn't list presets correctly when text is entered into preset name textbox
5. Global settings and midi mappings should be saved when modified
6. When user searches presets by bank name, exact string match should be user
7. MIDI Banks are not loaded correctly
8. MIDI Program Change messages should be ignored when the same PC message is received multiple times
9. When global parameter MIDI Mapping is added/removed, all plugin instances should be notified
10. LFO AR envelope might generate out of bounds values which might cause a crash
11. SynthMaster 2 VST3 might generate stuck notes when run inside FL Studio
12. When one plugin instance updates presets database, the other instances should be notified
