unholyeyebrows wrote: Sun Jun 07, 2026 5:37 am I'm genuinely not familiar with scripts so any tips would be appreciated. If the AI can produce scripts that can then be cut & paste to then achieve a particular goal then that might certainly be useful in some situations.
The way that scripts are stored and then run (as far as I know - it might change) is a bit strange (to me). They're usually called macros or actions and exist among the keyboard shortcuts.

Go to Settings -> Keyboard Shortcuts

To run a script (or macro or action) you use the section at the bottom of the shortcut list. Click the "add a new macro" button, give it a name, then put the code in the big empty box. Once a macro has been added, it will show up at the very end of the shortcut list. You can give it a keyboard shortcut, but you can also run it using the main menu - the last option is Actions and one of the options in there is Use Macros.

As far as I know, there is no way to simply run a script. You have to store it with a name, which is good for tasks that you want to perform regularly (ie. macro) but awkward for something that you just want to run once.

Note that I have not used the AI functionality and it may very well have a run-once function. Or it may have it soon. I can't help you there.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Thanks Pough. Seems like the Macros section you pointed to has been collecting some of the scripts the Assistant has been creating, unbeknownst to me (see first attached screenshot).

I managed to paste the Assistant-generated EQ script into a new macro and ran it from the User Macros menu. It threw an error (see second screenshot). However at this point I have already concluded this isn't for me - I am not convinced this workflow is really helping.

I'll keep an eye on the AI features as further Betas are released but my conclusion so far is that it is quite good at being an interactive helper with general music production questions, but not great at being a specific Waveform integrated tool. As such I'm not convinced it has much of an advantage over just firing up any existing AI such as Copilot and asking it the same questions.

Would be interesting though to learn if anyone else has used it and had similar or different results.

@unholyeyebrows The scripts created by the AI Assistant are 'Macros' . You will find them at -->Settings -->Keyboard Shortcuts --Macros . ( Scroll the view down to the macros section at the bottom. )

The AI Assistant should automatically name them for you under 'Ai Script ' and will append a new number to each new script, unless you have explicitly told the assistant to name them under a chosen name.

You can assign your own keyboard combination to trigger the 'scripts' , or as above get the AI to assign this for you.

I'm a private Beta tester, so I will most likely be a few releases ahead of the public betas at certain times, but this is generally how it has worked since 1st introduced AFAIR.

IS it possible to create a script that will map my keyboard to a VST?

I have an old Novation XStation synth and MIDI controller. I would like to avoid the pain of manual mapping.

Just wondering if this is within the capabilities of the AI assistant.
