Looks good, sounds good and a fair price if you don't already have a Pro5 emu...that said, played for an hour then deleted. absolutely nothing wrong with it at all but I just have more enough of this type of thing and I am really not sure Pro5 emulations can get better in a meaningful way then Repro, its enough for me anyway.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I really only spent like 5 minutes with it before work but my first impression was:
1. Sounded pretty good. The "It's a Prophet" patch sounds pretty bang on with the hardware patch it's based on. I haven't done a direct A/B compare yet, but I'll do that later.
2. The GUI is a busy, cluttered mess where tiny fonts and poor contrast abound.
3. No option to import presets from the hardware right? That would've been cool.
I'll give it a much more close listen in the coming days.

My first impression of that was, "oh, this isn't anywhere near as drastic as on the hardware." Not just the envelopes, but the tuning goes way out on the hardware too. The plugin seems to have much more sane ranges, which I'm not really against, but then, how close is it to the hardware?Vortifex wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 10:30 am Vintage knob affects the envelopes way more than I'd like.

The Acustica Expanse5 is another good one, as just an FYI. I think it flies under the radar because it's Acustica and everything with them is either weird or shrouded in mystery. But it's a good synth.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 9:42 am times we live in...20 years ago i could only dream about such good emulation, we only had Pro 53, now we have Repro 5, Model 80 and this. Just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to the entire GForce team for the Prophet-5 plugin — this is absolutely incredible work!
The dual-layer architecture is a game changer. The moment I realized I could stack and layer, I knew this was essentially a Prophet 10 in a plugin — it really does feel like the actual hardware.
The attention to detail across the Rev1, Rev2, and Rev3 models is outstanding, and the X-Modifiers section opens up a whole new world of sound design possibilities. You can tell this was made with genuine love and care for the original instrument.
Seriously, GForce — you've done it again. instant purchase. Keep up the amazing work!

Same here, sort of... I’d at least want to make sure the demo works on my system.Aloysius wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 9:47 am This was an insta not buy for me without even listening to it.

I just compared it to Repro. Around 5-8 voices, the official Prophet emulation uses more CPU than Repro-5 with multi-core enabled and HQ off. However, it uses around as much as Repro-5 with HQ and multi-core enabled. When the multi-core is off, Repro-5 then uses more CPU. Repro still has its advantages, such as the oscillators having more harmonics, the CLAP support, and the addition of Repro-1. Repro's filter FM sometimes sounds richer or more musical, at least when comparing the factory presets. So I don't know if I will sell Repro in favor of GForce's emulation. The GForce one has its advantages, such as layering, filter saturation, Q-Comp, and the XMod feature.

No disrespect to anyone , but this plugin is created much , much different, once you discover what it can do in terms of X-mod + stacking sounds, splits, vs others just the X-mod in this alone, this changes all prophet 5/10 plugins. I own pretty much every Prophet plugin,a previous owner of Sequential's P-10.
Gforce is the closest in terms of what it sounds like, and what it can do feature wise, yet this is more sophisticated as it has fx etc. So yes it's not going to be as simple, when it's 2x as powerful ! Most prophet plugin designs completely skip out on the other 5 voices, Gforce did not skip. That alone makes this alot different, they didn't rely on the whole, " well just use your daw to stack excuse".
So no it's not the same,or even close to the other designs, and thanks to companies who are doing synths with splits/layers, my opinion has always been why settle for less in a design when the software allows you to be so much more creative than the HW. Especially like TALs Jupiter 8, no one else seems to realize the J8 was a Dual voice 4x4 = 8 architecture besides TAl.
so cheers to them, and Gforce with this.

You can also do layers in Bitwig, Ableton, and BlueCat's Patchwork. But layering within the plugin is not as cumbersome. I only care about the plugin for the SSM filter and XMod. I'm not sure if I'll sell Repro, though. I used it in a lot of projects.exmatproton wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 12:55 pmwell..luckily with analog lab one can layer (key ranges) whatever with whatever, if one needs that..trusampler wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 12:45 pm Especially like TALs Jupiter 8, no one else seems to realize the J8 was a Dual voice 4x4 = 8 architecture besides TAl.so cheers to them, and Gforce with this.

Not thrilled over a Prophet 5 emulation but I'll give it a go seeing as it is Gforce.

It's not really taxing my CPU even with 2 layers on and 10 voices each - however where is the multicore toggle just in case I find a patch that does? It's not in options or the places I would usually think to look

Cherry Audio did the layered/split thing for Mercury-8 as well.trusampler wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 12:45 pm No disrespect to anyone , but this plugin is created much , much different, once you discover what it can do in terms of X-mod + stacking sounds, splits, vs others just the X-mod in this alone, this changes all prophet 5/10 plugins. I used to think built-in layering was a non-important feature as you can layer anything in any DAW, however I have grown to appreciate the immediacy of having a layer built-in to quickly switch in the plugin interface itself
And yeah the x-mod system is pretty great. If there was one little extra I think would have been cool, it would be to add a simple sub osc like they did for the SEM/OB-E and the Oddity. Something I liked in Expanse-5 as well.
