There are many of us that have great experiences, flawless for me. You just have to ignore the troll, since Ben doesn't do anything about him.TechHaus wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 1:12 pm No games being played, and actually i documented it in Notion because it is something that came up multiple time and I was sick of googling it. Tiles, what operating system is this thread about?Tiles wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 4:49 amYou mean the document with the title propaganda lies for beginners? Just don't get caught, then you won't need to whine about it here and even attack me for pointing at it.
I said diskpart (i have no idea what gpedit is) and then i just told you the exact scenario where I needed it in the last post!Tiles wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 6:44 am Dream harder
Your claim was that at Windows you need gpedit to format an usb stick. I disproved you by pointing at the format item in the right click menu. And then you started attacking me.
It is always the same, the moment when the facts comes in the way you folks are getting offending and personal.
I’m not disputing that you used Diskpart or had to look it up. It’s just not something most people need for a simple USB stick issue. Your claim that you need diskpart to format an usb stick at Windows is plain wrong. The normal way is the same as at Linux. That's the facts.I had to google how to format the usb stick! Everything I said, including...umm...the "personal attacks?" (where?) are true.
Nope, that's the truth, provable and repeatable. You just don't like it. The Windows UI is made in a way that you can find everything by yourself in case you search long enough. No Google needed at all. You will even find Diskpart that way.No, your claim that folks don't need to google to use Windows is the propaganda lie, because you just admitted that you are not disputing that I did.
What I can highly recommend: Find a good local LLM and let it help you with Linux issues.
Now how would you consider your current wording here?I wasn't even attacking you.
While at it, don't forget to google for Linux USB problem for this exact scenario. In fact, go use Google right now to see how many people have discussed this exact scenario.
That you don't like Windows is your problem. Your personal aversion has nothing to do with the issue. And the Windows ui is made for finding candycrush saga easily, that was in my start menu, unsolicited.
EDIT: But that you mention Linux Installer brings me finally on the right track. Now i k now what was going on.
When a USB stick has been written with a Linux image, and contains even installer scripts, Windows sometimes refuses to format it normally, and Diskpart is indeed a common way to fix that.
This is a special case though, and not common. And it works the other way around too. You can also under Linux end in the situation that an USB stick written by Windows is not longer easily to format and you need to use wipefs or similar methods.
