In the new Spectral Mode using reharmonize, one can conform the harmonics to the Global Scale. Gives lovely results as it conforms to scale changes over time.svero wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2026 2:51 pm Normally I'm not a fan of new devices because so much can be done via VST, and I'd prefer focus in the core application, but I have to say that this time it looks pretty interesting and I'm not disappointed with this new sampler. It really looks pretty cool and extremely versatile.

Am I mistaken (very possible), or is there no way to select a region between a start and end point and have it perfectly match — via time-stretching — a fixed musical length, like 1 beat, 2 beats, 1 bar, etc.?
Ableton’s Simpler can do this, and the new Bitwig Sampler seems capable of all sorts of innovative and even crazy things — but not something as basic as stretching a portion of audio to fit the tempo?
I’m probably missing something here.

I have requested this for so long and now when i leave Bitwig it shows up. Slicing and improved granular sampling
But i can deal with ableton simpler and granulator aswell and reach crazy results.
I wish Bitwig did run not so bad on my labtop.
Have fun with the new sampling power in bitwig!

There's no way to do that in the sample window.Jhowas wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2026 3:52 pm Am I mistaken (very possible), or is there no way to select a region between a start and end point and have it perfectly match — via time-stretching — a fixed musical length, like 1 beat, 2 beats, 1 bar, etc.?

The main drawback of this update is poor time stretching. Ableton and Reason sampler Mimic have long had good stretching for working with notes in piano roll, but here it simply crushes sounds when raising and lowering the pitch in spectral mode. But for everything else, I'm very pleased! Thanks to the Bitwig team, we hope they add a good stretcher to 6.1.

Pretty sure the devices and grid team are different from the main UI and engines, so maybe theyve just been waiting patiently...!billinder33 wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2026 2:25 pm The quick turnaround to deliver right after hammering out all the bugs/crashes in v6 is a very encouraging sign as well. I suspect we're about to see a flood of features that users have wanted for a long time.

Device and Grid developers are the smart ones... Can't say the same thing about whoever is responsible for UI and UX..._leras wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2026 12:36 pmPretty sure the devices and grid team are different from the main UI and engines, so maybe theyve just been waiting patiently...!billinder33 wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2026 2:25 pm The quick turnaround to deliver right after hammering out all the bugs/crashes in v6 is a very encouraging sign as well.
