Yes — all Ample Guitar v4 and later versions are native Apple Silicon applications (including M1 / M2 / M3 / M4 / M5 architecture support).

They run natively on modern macOS systems and do not require Rosetta for normal operation. They are fully compatible with current and future macOS versions as well.

Hello Ample guys! Im enjoying your latest versions very much. I did unexpectly get a warning from the "smart app control" in Win Defender when loading Ample bass J in Cubase 15. And then it blocked the vst, preventing me from accessing it. And apparently the smart app control does'nt have any block list so you can allow apps. So i had to turn off the smart app control function to being able to use the vst again. I just find it a bit strange cause that was the only vst from ample that set off that warning so far.

And a question regarding the riffer v4: i made a nice guitar riff and exported the midi to position 0 (at absolutely the beginning) in Cubase. However the release in the instrument sounded wrong. So i moved the midi clip just a tiny bit forward, and then it played correctly. I've set the track delay to -50 ms and the global volume to zero in ample. Should you always start your project a couple of bars ahead when using ample? Its no problem, just want to make sure. Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your detailed feedback, and we are glad to hear that you are enjoying the latest versions.

Regarding the Riffer v4 behavior:

Since you have set the Cubase track delay to -50 ms, the MIDI data needs to begin slightly after the absolute start of the project. At position 0, Cubase cannot play anything before the beginning of the timeline, so the negative delay can cause the initial release or other playback data to be cut off or triggered incorrectly.

We recommend leaving at least one empty bar before the first MIDI event when using a negative track delay. This gives Cubase enough pre-roll time for the instrument to receive all necessary MIDI data correctly.

Regarding the Windows Defender Smart App Control warning:

This is a false positive. Our software does not contain any virus, malware, or unwanted software.

Unfortunately, Smart App Control decisions are made entirely by Microsoft, and it does not currently provide a practical per-app allow list in the same way as some other Windows Defender features. Therefore, we have limited control over how it classifies a specific VST file.

We understand that this is inconvenient, especially since Ample Bass J was the only Ample product that triggered the warning on your system. However, you can be assured that the installer and plugin are safe to use.
