anytime you see 1/2 3 you're looking at a Rev 4 model, none of the earlier models we're modeling. Those we're the original designs, the Rev 4 is the last prophet 5/10 rev 4 that dave smith / sequential built. I love this version, to me it's actually one of the most flexible, and this plugin just makes it even more special, especially when Sequential add's the ability to load patches in the software / exchange with hw

I pulled the trigger on getting the Prophet-5 plugin. I was originally going to get the Multi/Poly and use $8 of rewards cash to get the Prophet-5 plugin. But because I made $160 of profit selling the D-05 and K-25m separately after purchasing them together for $350 + $27 tax, I decided to allocate some of that free money towards the plugin (with the loyalty discount) and $60 towards a Fourm I got for $810, including tax and free shipping.

I think emus' voices were gradually silenced when they became Creative.kritikon wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2026 9:59 pm If you consider a rev4 as an emulation of a rev3 and so on, which is not too much of a stretch, then this plugin is an emulation of an emulation of an emulation of an emulation. What nobody has yet considered is...what do emus think of all this taking their name in vain? ...and why is it not an ostrichulation?![]()

I am the owner of a Sequential Take 5, and while I don't know the major differences between a Take 5 and a Prophet 5, if I were no longer an owner of a Sequential Take 5, the sound of the GForce Sequential Prophet 5 would not leave me feeling lacking aside from the tactile feeling (extremely stiff knobs) of the hardware. Thanks for reading my review.

In retrospect, I'd owned Korg, Moog, Oberheim, Yamaha, ARP, Roland, Ensoniq, and just about every other major synth brand. Yet, I never once bought anything from Sequential Circuits. Looking back, I don't know why. It's not like those other brands sounded "better" with "better" being a very subjective term anyway. So why? I don't know and I'm never going to know. All I know is that of all the emulations this one is by far my favorite. U-he probably comes in 2nd but by a long way off.

As a plugin, I still prefer RePro. The UI, features, browser, etc. I much prefer. But this sounds a lot like my hardware and has some unique features of its own. Different pros and cons.

Yeah, there are plenty of alternatives. I suppose GForce did this less to consolidate its own branding and more to lock in an official Sequential partnership, adding to its existing Oberheim and Novation deals and rounding out its partnerships with the Focusrite synth brands. The selling point is the official/endorsed status, not a dramatic sonic leap over existing emulations.

Interesting.. Maybe because you have the hardware..Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 6:52 pm As a plugin, I still prefer RePro. The UI, features, browser, etc. I much prefer. But this sounds a lot like my hardware and has some unique features of its own. Different pros and cons.
I do agree that Repro-5 has the better UI and Browser (or that I prefer them)...
But whilst I always loved Repro-1, I was always so so with Repro-5... even when I got Softube's Model 80, I rarely used Repro-5 anymore. And months ago into the testing of this, I took out Repro-5 out of my Go to plugin list, put it back in weeks later then took it out again and it has stayed that way..
But I guess if I had the hardware my take would be a bit different..
I suspect this is the closest I will ever get to owning the 'hardware'.
