Yeah I know. I was a Reason user around 15-20 years ago, but I moved on and wont be buying stuff from them. Subscription model, alone, is not compatible with me.

I have the latest version of Reason and no subscription. It's an option. Since I use it almost excessively as a Reason Rack plugin in other DAWs I wouldn't own it if it was subscription only.

Considering Propellerheads came up with the REX format, yeah of course.
I can run REX files in AudioFinder and Zynaoptic Loop Editor 2 can batch convert them to WAV, Apple Loops etc. That's what I've been doing with them for the most part.

I dont see any non-subscription offering on that weird page, but if it exists Im not interested anyway. Old Propellerheads customer here. I continue to own a Cubase 12 license that sits around here somewhere, so I can always run Rx2 over there, or in kontakt, etc. Ill have to make due for now.machinesworking wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 9:58 pmI have the latest version of Reason and no subscription. I jumped from 2.5 to 12 because I like their instruments, and using it as a rack of plugins is pretty great really.Milkman wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:14 pm I dont see any non-subscription offering on that weird page, but if it exists Im not interested anyway. ReCycle reborn...
Almost 30 years later we gave it hi-res graphics, made it compatible with Apple Silicon and added some back-end stuff for performance.
Maybe it is time now for Bitwig to add rex support!

I wonder what the point of rex is anymore?
Not trying to be contentious, but any old loop can be turned into the same idea nowadays with the minimum of effort.
Is it just being able to load old rex files or something?

I would looooove to see native rx2 support, as I said before. To this day, I switch back and forth between cubase (now 14) and BWS (5.3.2) to deal with the rx2 issue. Also loving to see that Recycle is freeware now!!!! Grabbing that right now. I spent 100s of hours in Recycle (and before it CoolEdit2k) so this is a blast from my past!

REX import and slicing and running perfect on Linux with Yabridge, but would love to see that slicing/timestreching would work in Bitwig like it does in Ableton with simpler

Just stumbled onto this topic. My Plugin (BeatForge) also offers rex support.
Download and try at www.beatforge.nl (14 day full functional trial)
At the moment I'm working on parameterlocks for slices, so every rex slices can have it's own settings.
Let me know what you think, where i should improve the rex functionality.
