Changes in Bitwig Studio 6.1, Beta 2 [released 25 June 2026]

IMPROVEMENTS

Tuner device (Analysis) and Grid module (Display): Now shows additional resolution for Hertz values.
◦ The same pattern also applies to the Value Readout (Display) and Pitch (Pitch) Grid modules.

• Automation workflow improvements:
Hold point creation is now fully under user control:
▪ Clicking to insert the first automation/point to a line (or double-clicking off an existing curve) creates a non-Hold-point.
▪ If the point lands after a Hold segment, that segment will become linear, with a support point added at the end.
▪ Holding [CTRL] (or [CMD] on macOS) inserts a Hold point instead.
◦ When moving existing automation points (or the end of a Hold segment), the event’s initial position is always used as a snap point.
◦ Redundant points, etc., are better cleaned-up after move/insert operations.
Snap to semitones no longer refuses to snap back to the original value.

• Bitwig Studio’s browsers can now show Tuning Files.
◦ This will display any Scala (SCL) files that describe either seven- or 12-note scales.
◦ When a file is selected, any description from the file is shown (in the Pop-up Browser), as well as the number of NOTES.
◦ If a Tuning File is dragged in from the Browser Panel, a Micro-pitch device is created with the file loaded.
◦ If you then click the folder icon to Replace Content via the Pop-up Browser, your browsing session will start from the original SCL file.

FIXES

• macOS: Fixed poor graphics performance and related crashes [5982]

Sampler fixes:
◦ Device now initializes properly after using the Slice to Multisample action [6330]
◦ Fixed an audio engine crash when Spectral mode was playing at different sample rates/block sizes [6267]
◦ Fixed Analyzed Root Key playback when using Spectral mode together with Freeze Playhead [6404]
◦ Fix Cycles pitch behavior to match previous versions [6430]
◦ For Textures and Fragments modes, fixed the initial start position, when using Freeze Playhead with the Analyzed Root Key option [6460]
◦ Dragging a note clip out of a sliced Sampler now uses velocities of 100 % (when in one of the key assignment modes) [6398]
◦ Loop settings are now preserved while converting back and forth between Single and Sliced sample modes [6461]
Sampler device’s onscreen keyboard is no longer doomed to play only velocity values of 1 after creating a note in a note clip [5738]
◦ Fix loading legacy loop modes of MULTISAMPLE files (made before v2.4, or generated by SampleRobot) [6423]

• Dragging a sample onto the FX slot of an instrument now creates a Convolution device [6462]
• When zooming vertically, automation lanes of group tracks are now zooming as well [5725]
• Recording audio clips from the Launcher to the Arranger provides proper play start markers [6400]
• Renaming a device now updates the name of its automation lanes [6216]
Set Object Start action now works after using the Set Object End action [5723]
• Measure are counted correctly when looped time signature clips are present [5704]
• Fixed a crash when dragging a curve from Segments modulator to an Arranger track’s Volume lane previously containing no automation [6341]
• Manually selecting an audio interface now overrides a previous Don’t Show Again choice [5651]
• VST3: Modulated parameters are now initializing correctly [6149]
• macOS: It is now possible to cancel a drag from an external application while the Bitwig Studio window is in focus [6438]
