Hey, I think I may be on some ignore lists, but how can I know who is blocking or ignoring me? :hihi:

i don't know if command functions exist here but at the scrabble site that i play at, the coomand is "pers"
it's short for personal
it doesn't tell you who "noplay"ed you but it does tell you how many blocked or "noplay"ed you
kvr propably doesn't have a command thingy
if so, why not?

i have never needed to block or foe anyone here at kvr
but at the scrabble site that i play at, they allow you to block 100 people
i find that 100 is not enough because i always have 98 people blocked and i want to block at least one thousand
i need the 2 slots empty for quickly noplaying two people
i only block them if they are slow players, no other reason
i guess i am not very tolerant towards slow players

but here at kvr, i myself have not found one reason to block anybody
but i understand if there are intolerant people here since i am intolerant myself elsewhere
i can guess the reasons for blocking anyone here

1. the poster post too much, like me lol
i believe that typing and word games and may other things keep dementia at bay in the long run
that belief could be wrong but hey it's fun doing it
2. the poster doesn't care about the phrase "i am a human being, i have feelings"
at the reaper forum, every member have that under their name, or something like that
3. the poster post things that the potential blocker(s) has zero interest in

there must be so much more reasons for blocking anyone here at kvr
but at the moment i am coming up with only 3 reasons

i am interested in finding out other reasons why people would block other people here at kvr
the reasons might be hilarious
or not

so i think i'll start a new thread and call it "what are your reasons for putting people in the foe list"

Post

The quote thing is pretty annoying since they can use that to harass you if they know you have them blocked.

So blocking them is useless pretty much. Imo.

Post

I also block some people who are purely annoying. I’m sure I’m also annoying to many, which is fine. I don’t see any reason to put up with being annoyed when you go to a forum for positive interactions.

Another class is interaction bots. People who post threads like, “what’s your favorite VST?” What possible use is a thread like that, other than to drive interaction on a site?

Hmm I guess people really use bots for that, never occurred to me really. I guess I’m still a little naive when it comes to AI usage.

I wonder what the aim is there.

Post

Yes I wonder about that too. I can understand that some people get a thrill out of being annoying, but what's in it for a bot? Is there something the bots aren't telling us? 🤔

Seo. Threads on here rank really high on Google.

Rank then edit.

EDIT: If you remember, there was a wave a few months back where mystery links appeared in a lot of first posts in list / what's your favorite type threads.

Interesting, I guess that makes sense. Lame!

Seed the subject, then reply with your “favourite” from another sockpuppet account. It’s not uncommon to see threads where someone asks something like “what’s the best Albanian kazoo VST” and lo and behold two days later there’s a new Albanian kazoo VST on the market.

I think one of the more persistent “what’s the best” posters may be a blogger drumming up ideas for listicle posts.

There's not really a way to find out who is blocking or ignoring you. I'm not too worried about knowing who is blocking me. My real concern, and I think this is a major weakness of KVR (or the software KVR uses), is that when you put someone into the ignore/mute/block list, it doesn't fully ignore/mute/block the user. If I block someone (and I've only ever done it once--to a guy that weaponizes AI through condescending, never-ending, no win AI responses), I expect to not see anything written by the person.

As it stands now, if someone is ignored/muted/blocked, you don't see the initial response by the person (you still have an option to "view" it), but if someone quotes that user's response, you will still see the response. There's no way to fully escape and not see the person's responses under that condition. It is really frustrating.

Alright guyz, thanks for responding. I really do not wanna annoy anyone.

Post

I find that hard, no, make that impossible to believe. That's why you're on my foes list. Now you know at least one person who's blocking you. Congratulations.
