Well, it's a digital synth.
I was joking anyway.

I think i got desensitized because of all the great vsts and how they sound nowadays.
Andromeda A6 just doesnt that sound impressive or mind blowing anymore as it used to.
In my ears Zebra 3 sounds just as good or even better. Same with something like The Legend HZ, Gforce Prophet 5, Serum 2, Massive X ect.

Put a good keyboardist, play some well made patches and anything in the last 5 to 8 years released vsts can sound just as good or better.wagtunes wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 10:32 pmOkay, so what list of synths would you say sound better than this?234north wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 10:12 pmOK so I watched that video and it left me asking myself what the big deal is. None of what he played sounded like it couldn't be done elsewhere. That isn't to say that its not capable of a lot but that certainly wouldn't be a demo that would push me over the edge to buy one.kraster wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 3:47 pm
It's an incredible machine.
Matt Johnson gives a great showcase of it here:
Andromeda sounds awesome but you dont have the real thing, you are just listening to someone playing well patches. If you put the same guy to play Zebra 3 you will be amazed too, im sure.

I don't think we will be getting emulations of modern analog synths for various reasons but mostly because most people who care about very detailed emulations only care about vintage stuff yada yada yada. So the market would be small.
And they are not iconic in the sense of "the synth has been used across x and y recordar by famous artists X".

wags, didn't you recently assert that no one will be able to tell which synth is used once it is buried in the mix? since you also assert you have almost every other synth, i'm not sure why that doesn't apply here.
not trying to be difficult, but why own so many synths, if having a few select ones that get close enough will do the job once they are mixed in your song?

Here's what I think most people don't understand when they look at this statement I have made.JamminFool wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 7:06 am wags, didn't you recently assert that no one will be able to tell which synth is used once it is buried in the mix? since you also assert you have almost every other synth, i'm not sure why that doesn't apply here.

"You can't tell what the synth is when buried in the mix"
No, you can't. But you CAN tell that X synth sounds DIFFERENT from Y synth. THAT is why I have different synths.
Certainly you're not going to tell me that a Korg Wavestation sounds like an Oberheim OB X. And a Waldorf PPG 3 sounds different from both of them.
Does that explain better why I have different synths?

I'm not telling you anything.
I'm just asking why you apparently own nearly every synth. Surely a smaller subset will cover the basic sounds, according to your own assertions elsewhere?

What is this thread even about?
Nowadayz, it is all an emulation. We are all content!!! See Negativeland's song...we exist only as empty, meaningless nobodies, only to be infinitely REMIXED & REGURGITATED forever, and ever...amen.

And those that do REMIX us, will be assholes we have not ever even met!!!
So, welcome to Urantia basically!!!

Yeah. You reach a point where it's difficult to be genuinely impressed any more, and realise that the tools you already have are more than good enough.Lbdunequest wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 6:10 am I think i got desensitized because of all the great vsts and how they sound nowadays.

And I gave you my answer. While you can't tell specifically what synth it is you're hearing in the mix, synths do sound different from each other, That's why I own these.JamminFool wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 8:35 am I'm not telling you anything.

Korg Wavestation
Korg Triton
Synapse Audio Obsession
XILS Polymoog
PPG Phonom
Arturia Buchla V
And so many more. Because they all give me something different.
